Testing it right now, so far I am impressed. Very.

Edit: m79 bullet + nades are very hard to see for me, and some of the sound volumes seem to be off for me. Other than that beautiful work Mangled.

The m79 bullet and nades have hardly changed from stock soldat. Have you got bullet trails enabled? As for sound what setup are you using? Speakers? Headphones? Surround?

Hmm... that socom is farked. The original was better.
Looks great otherwise though Mangled... good work...

Btw... wtfark happened to the Ruger? The barrel got shortened!

I agree that the Socom could be better, I wasn't totally satisfied with it, I think the only problem is the grip being too narrow.

The ruger is slightly shortened, but actually that's because I scaled it down slightly. I feel it looks nicer this way. If you compare the original to the new one you can see that the original had really incorrect proportions.

Just tested it, and I love it. Specially the deagle and knife sound. :D

Good job once again. The only problem I have is that I can't see the ruger bullet at all, I don't know if you meant to make it like that or maybe its just something with my soldat folder.

Sorry, it seems that the ruger bullet didn't get into the release... I'll be making a patch for it soon (including a new image for the Socom) but in the meantime I suggest duplicating the m249-bullet and naming it Ruger77-bullet.

I've never used Xfire but I expect that Xfire will just run default Soldat.

Of course if you want to just overwrite your default soldat you can just move all the stuff in the Mods/SE - Soldat Enhanced folder into the main Soldat directory.

and mangled, the hk mp5a3 sound is not balanced. Most of the sound comes only from the right

You're right... I put the wrong version of the MP5 firing sound into the release... I'll put that in the next patch. Thanks  :)

1 missing bullet and 1 incorrect sound is not what I define as being many bugs. I will have a patch ready by the end of the week. I'm really waiting for more feedback on any issue people are having.

No, there are no weapon.ini's included. I actually find the same thing... particularly with the Steyr and Minimi. The mod is designed to make Soldat feel more immersive and intense so I'm you get the desired effect.

nice mod I like the new interface weapons and sounds.

I'll test it more and site specifically what I mean by volume being off, just not right now. And I guess I'm just not used to the standard M79 and nade gfx as I haven't used them in a long time.... But I do remember at least being able to see them flying at(around) me, where as now I have to really focus to follow the m79 shot.

Those of you having trouble with Soldat not running this mod from the mods folder... USE THE MOD STARTER. If you don't like that idea, create a new shortcut to Soldat on the desktop, and add this into the shortcut bit:

A few things to note. IMHO the sounds are "strange" , maybe it's because I'm not used to them, but for me it seems as if the sounds are "canned", can't really explain what i mean. Maybe it's just me.
Other thing is that the guns in the kill log are off the screen , see picture bellow

Also the core of the explosion is great, but i find those fire tails (see the picture above) coming out of it a little big p: (now I'm just nitpicking :D )
Other than that, nice mod . The guns look great, and the ruger really looks like a winchester :D

edit: almost forgot, the screen looks funky when in predator mode :P

There is no modded ctf.wav in the mods folder, but the original plays correctly p:
Also forgot to mention, if needed i can host the files unrared and provide a page where they are listed and can be downloaded ( AutoIndex ftw ^^ )

Yep. The folder is SE - Soldat Enhanced ... people should have no problems if they just follow the readme. This mod is designed to be installed onto default Soldat without replacing any files except the font.ini ... if you're not following the instructions, or if you've already got a customized version of Soldat then you will probably get undesired results.

I will post the missing bullet and the correct mp5 sound later.

With the "canned" sounds are you talking about the respawn and capture sounds? I felt like making them sound a little different..making them sound muffled and less harsh on the ears (particularly the respawn sound... as you know sometimes in Soldat the respawn sound will play at 500% its volume sometimes. Or if you're talking about the firing sounds... welcome to stereo audio. It makes them sound clearer, sharper and more in your face.

Unfortunately I don't have a registered version of Soldat... so it's difficult for me to really make registered interfaces because I can't test them myself. The weapons were always going to go off the screen, due to their size. There's nothing I can do about that but you can still tell what the weapons are in the kill log.

This is a Ruger M77:


This is a Winchester 70:


As you can see they are of almost identical design... Most hunting bolt-action rifles have this kind of design.

Yeah unfortunately the predator screen isn't that great.... because it uses the same image as the background for the weapon menu as its overlay... I felt the weapon menu had to look as sexy as the interface rather than making it look bad to make the predator screen decent.
