So I was playing U13 recently (I know it's a pub, which probably kills my point. Bear with me.) and decided to try out the ruger. Since I had been playing Snipe and Slice, my aim was pretty decent. Guess what? People started getting upset, because they were dying so fast. What do people say about the barret? "It kills you before you can do anything!" So the barreter magically has 100% accuracy. Then shouldn't they have a bigger problem with the ruger? Not only can it get two kills (more if target is hurt) in a clip, but it reloads MUCH faster than the barret. What makes instakill weapons so bad, when there are much deadlier weapons? Why don't people consider the ruger overpowered?

Note: This is about normal mode, not realistic.

Uhm.

Ruger doesn't have a scope.
Ruger killing in 2-3 shots and no scope gives you way more time to bink, nade, knife, etc.
Ruger requires you hit those 2-3 shots instead of one.
If you're going alt, generally you only need to kill one person at a time, making the barret strictly better.

Generally, going against a ruger means you have a lot more time to actually deal damage or kill them, whereas a barret can kill you before you even know where the ret user is.

IMO the ruger is a very balanced weapon, its just that the barret is slightly overpowered. Not incredibly so, but it is a bit.

You say it like you can get a double kill with every 4 shots.

It usually takes 3 shots to kill someone, then you are left hanging when you have to reload. Also, 2+ versus 1 ruger = No chance.

I will admit though I fucking hate facing against other good ruger users besides myself.

I cant kill a good rugerer with a an aug. The gun just fires to fast to get that damage. I could be wrong since i rarely play Normal mode.

Playing soldat, I actually think that the ruger should have a faster firing rate a a few more bullets in the clip. Maybe a bit less damage, but I think its one of the harder and weaker guns in soldat to use.

That I disagree with. Maybe Deagles are like that but Ruger, no. While they are a good gun you can't just join, grab a ruger, and get first (unless you are mancer).

Harder, yes. Weaker, no. It's very powerful, assuming you can hit your targets.

I love the Rugar, mind you though i play pubs cuz iam on dial up and they are teh only servers where i dotn get a ping of over 250 so... but anyway leave teh rugar how it is, its great to use and not the least bit over or under powered.

Actually, I think the ruger like always kill in 2 shots now. It's not overpowered. No gun is overpowered. I think jets are overpowered. -_-

does for me though, almost all the time its very consistent.

Even if it does for you somehow, the point is that it's not a 2 shot killer the majority of the time.

Isn't every weapon somehow "overpowered" in good hands? Sometimes I beat my friends with a MP5 at long range, don't ask me how.

ive sniped someone with a knife. I was efc and running backwards, threw my knife at 45º angle back and he ran into it.

Luck doesn't make something overpowered. what makes something overpowered is if the gun is way too good all the time in almost all situations, usually it is extremely difficult for 1 person to use another weapon against it. Ruger has 2 shot kill sometimes, but usually it ether lags doesn't register or hits the legs making it 3 shot kill.

Well to answer the question, it is because the rugar and its usage does not give the wielder a dominating advantage necessarily. If anything, it depends on the user's ability to make good use of it with a "decent aim" paraphrased I figure. It's like geing infront of an AK's shots for the same amount of time you are a rugars. The rugar doesn't have as much a diverging shot as autos do, and to say, providing that you are not disoriented by what is thrown at you (because it is possible) you could die in relatively the same amount of time.

And to add, you can get one hit kills with the rugar providing that your hits are good headshots (from my vivid memory) or a shot from the back (of the head of course XD).

Heh. Try playing ruger on realistic.

Now that is some crazy stuff. 1 hit to the head and it makes you dead (Rhyme Time), and you can get some pretty ridiculous headshots. Like from directly below. Rugers can easily get 2-3 kills per clip. It's frustrating to play against, especially if you get mowed over by some pro 5 rounds in a row. But it's not unbalanced, because you realize that that guy just hit you square in your 3 pixel head 5 times in a row, first shot, and that he has some crazy skills.

Ruger has dirty kickback on realistic, you miss once and you are generally toast, because your cursor has flown halfway to the moon.

Ruger is my favorite weapon ,most of the times i need 2-3 shots to kill someone but i love it when someone is injured and i head shot them BLAM!

or better yet if someone is trying to fly up i nade em and shoot at them at the same time the shot does not kill them but the nade will finish them off [even if its not direct hit]

although somthimes i can get 4 shots and not kill someone [guess i suck at aiming]
