Well i think it is unfair that I see people who have 1 post asking a legit question and start out at -4 karma.

I have supported removing the karma system for ages. Just never happened. I do think the forum folk need to be polled to see if they want it removed. Anyway I don't think this forum needs anymore little additions here and there. If we are to add something we need to look in a "bigger picture" perspective. Like adding debate forums or updating the current rules.

OT: I think Karma should be binned, and a reputation put in it's place. Reputation can be managed by moderators and administrators.

Much like at its inception, the people complaining are the ones who have ridiculously low karma. I think it serves its purpose quite well. It doesn't give an 'exact' idea of someone's standing, but if you've been here less than a month and already have a lower karma than I do, you're clearly doing something wrong.

People tend to complain about overuse of the "smite" option, but someone with -80 karma is generally smitten more than someone with a positive karma, and therefore has a lower standing within the forums. A general rule would be to ignore anyone with karma lower than about -20.

I just think that this karma system is flawed. Why does a4yrold have -99 karma. Did he do something wrong? He just says what he means and many people smite him because of that.
I will aplaud someone even he he has a negative opinion about my map/mod or even my post if it has any reason to be like that.
