My area and anything even slightly near it is under a flood / flash flood warning for another 6 hours or so. It's been raining like a MOTHER for days. Apparently, the worst of the rain is finally leaving to the east, but runoff will continue to be a problem for a few hours.

I live a stone's throw from a bridge over a creek, and that creek is freakin' bursting at the seams. I've never seen it so high in my life. There can't be 4 vertical feet between it and the roads.

I live on the second floor of a two-apartment building, so I'm mostly safe, but I sure as hell am worried about those two cars I have parked down there. I might end up moving them if it bugs me too much.

Logically, I doubt that creek will honestly get much worse, but I sure as crap hope I'm not wrong.

Pennsylvania just loves floods. Seems it's always either flooding or there's a drought.

Anyway, seems like I'll be ok.

I'm in NY and we've had flood warnings on and off all week too.

I'm at work right now, literally right next to the biggest creek in the area, and only about 1/4 mile upstream from the biggest river in the state

thats because the water doesn't have to go far to get to a larger body (ocean) whereas anywhere inland (since you guys are flapping out in the ocean there), lots of rain == flooding local streams and creeks and rivers

Good 'ol NYC's been getting on/off Thunderstorms the whole week. Just had one, and I nearly jumped out of my freakin' chair when I head a clap. 3:00, it's nice 'n' sunny, 6:00-8:00 raining cats 'n' dogs.

Damn front won't move out of the East Coast...

I certainly dodged a bullet, either way. Turns out that the counties around here and otherwise from New York to Maryland were all hit HARD. A county or two away from me, there were honest-to-crud mass evacuations, and all of it has left at least 12 people dead. Grim.
