Ok in short... there's this guy, we'll call him fred. He was a friend of mine... he dated this girl (we'll call her Jane).... and then one day they broke up... she's now my girlfriend.. and we're both very happy...

one thing: fred now hates me. I don't return the anger, but I REALLY don't like the way he's behaving... he's being an asshat. I tried talking to him.. that doesn't really work.
I hate the fact that I lost a friend because I fell in love.

(Let one thing be clear... I did NOT "steal" her away from him. there's been 3 months after they broke up before we started...)
