Toumaz winning has nothing to do wit popularity, I think most people here are smart enough to ignore "popularity."

As for the idea of taking the top 5 and having another vote.. I don't think we have time for that.

lol im pretty sure that popularity made up a big part of this but if the icons did suck then no one would vote for them anyway lol

Still, at long as people aren't registering multiple accounts just to stack votes, then just let the winner win already, regardless of assumed reasons why people voted for a particular image.

I want to congratulate Toumaz for winning and that MM decides to take his icon. We wanted a new icon and that's why this contest was held. Even if Toumaz's is made well and looks good (it really does) but it feels like the old one with a facelift and that's why I wanted vice's icon because it's different.

that was other people advertising for him ,which he was against. This is "the same" as vice's being advertised on the aus forums, the only difference is that there are much fewer people in #lrs.

Lastly, advertising for someone's good work doesn't make this a popularity contest.

I think we can end the contest. The verdict is pretty clear...

Toumaz is the winner!

It maintains the look and feel of the long tradition of Soldat icons and I like it very much. So expect to see it in version 1.4!

Thanks all for participating in the contest. Giving it was made very late with a time constraint there was some really good stuff. I think making contests is a pretty good way of making new Soldat content. Thanks again.

I'm proud that I got this far on the vote.. I really didn't expect anything to come since everyone was like "ZOMG TOUMAZ BEST VICE KICKS ASS". Also, I didn't have any kind of advertise, nobody advertised for me, and I don't know the ppl who voted for me at all. Kinda moral victory.

I'm happy that the icon I lost to was nice, not some crap icon.

Likewise, Toumaz's is awesome. Goes with the Soldatish feel perfectly. My only other choice would have been Vice's.
