Warning Levels

Is it possible to drop a warning level? Like by being nice or something?

If you're well-behaved for long enough, the moderator who warned you can propose lowering it back down.

By "long enough" we are not talking about a week or two :P

When I first joined the forum, I posted up a pointless post in a very dead thread... I got a warning for it but I've learnt my lesson. Haven't received a warning since (woo!).

Oh, Sorry, I'm new to forums, this is the first forum i've ever been on, I thought the threads and topics are updated frequently, I thought every topic and thread is recent. Is there any way of getting rid of the warning? Or is it there permantely if I never do anything wrong again.

It can get removed over time if I or any other moderator/admin thinks you've actually started contributing instead of spamming/flaming...

So yeah, that's my story.... :)

EDIT: Whoops, should of included this aswell:

Quote from: Outcast
This is your first warning for the reasons specified in the thread itself.

First
Second
Third(x day ban - whoever gave it to you decides)
Fourth - Permanent ban!

Well it shouldn't really matter if you already have a warning because it's not like you're gonna break the rules again...Or are you? :)

What I mean is that it requires really bad things to get a warning and it's nothing that you can get easy.

Well, I got one for posting my first post on a dead topic. Was that really that serious?

Getting one warning is just a little slap on the wrist to let you know your boundaries. I got a warning once, after that I knew not to fight with moderators.

Having somebody stuff your ass full of coal is better than getting a perm ban. Remember that. I'm not sure why bumping old topics is a bad thing, though. :( Care to explain?

bumping old topics is annoying, especially when nothing that you have to say is relevant, it is like super spam.

and i bet that the whole removing a warning isn't really true simply because the mods aren't monitoring your posts all the time lol maybe warnings should be like bans and after 5 or so months they leave

We do monitor your posts and remove warnings if we see significantly improved behavior.  It's often the case that we just don't tell anyone when we lower your warning level, though.

Actually that is the only reason... FLAB himself said that as long as what you have to say contributes (positively, lol), bumps are fine.

If you're well-behaved for long enough, the moderator who warned you can propose lowering it back down.
I really hope that's more like "If you're well-behaved for long enough, a moderator may decrease the warn level," or else I'm in big trouble for being generous (none of the people whose levels I decreased were originally warned by me specifically) :P But, if that is the case after all, then perhaps I should check Krillious' posting history (and don't you start editing your posts to look all prim and prissy now, haha)...

Ok, so what if I bumped an old topic with something that contributes, is useful, and worthwhile to read?

Now I'm not scared to bring back a certain old topic. Why'd you have to lock MisterCharles' computer stupidity thread? I contributed a link to fork bombs. D:

nah thats fine too, I just don't want people's warning levels being lowered without them being watched for a while (like I don't want someone lowering the warning level of user X if his level was just raised the day before, hence the need for it to be someone that the moderator knows of)
