I have gone into many a weapon modded server, and most of them are just stupidly overmodded. But once in a while comes a great weapon mod, that is balance, fun and plays nice, and is a real addition to soldat. And, ofcource, I play it for an hour or so, I quit, and the server is lost forever.

My suggestion is this, that there be a command to download the INI file, and save it in your soldat folder under the same name as the host's folder. I don't think it would be too much of a problem to code, and probably no problem for lag, such a small file. Well, comment.

Due to copywrite ect, there could be a server side option to stop the downloading of the INI file. Everyone wins.

The command could be /downloadwep or something, I dunno.

Full support. I don't even think there would have to be any server changes done as the client already receives the weapons.ini data when it connects (or when the settings are reloaded).

ive been on some awsome modded servers, but have never been able to get the mods the same myself..

maybe if you click on the server's name once (so to make the IP appear in the box) there should be a drop down menu button where you can have a bunch of options. Download soldat.ini would be one. Also download maplist or other junk that I can't think of now too. This would make it more prone to hacking though w.e

The problem with that is that you would have to join the server, play, leave the server, download the mod, then join again. This could get a bit irritating. But hey, it would be good to download the whole maplist instead of getting kicked each time there is a new map.

Or meaybe the last server's weapon ini would be automatically copying into a "LastServerWeapons.ini"

what if you could enable an option in the settings like "safe weapons.ini when joining server"? u could make a new folder in the Soldat- main folder to safe em all

uhm, why would you want to change your soldat.ini? It should be a separate ini file if anything... oh well

There's no reason for me to pop back into this section of the forums since no changes will be taken into effect for probably 2 years...
