I attend grammar school, last grade, and ignorance is all around me. Well, good for them. Ignorance is bliss.
Well, the way you suggested it, no way. Limiting certain weapons to a certian team would be annoying to say the least (for example, people stacking to get their favorite weapon, or even worse, having a weapon better suited for the map confined to a single team). However, having different weapons.ini for the teams makes more sense and would actually be a good idea. About the appearance, well, having a team2 weapons-gfx file would rock.
It would be fun to play like : Barretts vs Rugers Ak vs steyr aug
I support the idea - with separate weapon.ini files of course.
Steyr's and Barret's VS AK's and M79's!...
Also need team sounds.Hey presto! Soldat is now 40 megs!
I suggested this a long time ago. I still stand behind it. MM wouldnt really have to do anything but code it in to read a second folder, much like the Team2 folder... in fact, why not make it that? Weapons-gfx/team2 might work. and Weapons2.ini might work too.
Ehm, That can already be done- Clan war mode... Just join one team as pink, then the other as yellow... how? Pink shirt, yellow pants... It switched the colors on me once when I was in a server with that setting...
It would be a good addition to the game. Maybe red team would be the "terrorists" (which they usually are in infiltration), as them getting Ak-74's and such. Then the blue team having Snipers, AUG's and such. Swatlike weapons.New weapons would be nice to be implemented for each team. For example, blue team's sniper would fire 2X as fast, but not enough damage to kill in one shot. Another example would be a stronger mp5, but with less ammo and a greater reload rate.Things like this could be changed in game options, "team weapons mode"
This shouldn't be added as it may unbalance game-play.

It has been suggested before. Other players find that it is an unnecessary option.

The fact that we have all these eye candy is to make the gameplay more enjoyable and creative.Completely for it =]Also you can just have everything on default, so it wouldn't effect the 'other' players that dont like this option. Hence why this is beneficial for modders.
sorry, guys, but this is not good. if you step into a public server and get ****ed up because the server-team weapons are weaker than the opponent's ones, you will be really pissed.why not making a weapons.txt with the first 5 weapons being allies, and the last 5 axis? you can hint to this in the server welcome message, and if someone feels handled unfair, he can use the enemy weapons easily. This is better, leave as is!!!

Rob is talking about team weapon gfx sprites.
