Ello lads and ladies!

I decided to stop making the 2142 mod because making a new mod from scratch is rather time consuming for my busy life at the moment  :D.

Therefore i have decided to move back to friendly turf and update the Warhammer 40,000 mod. This version of the mod will have a few ajustments to some gun appearances as well as a hell of a lot of new sfx (as the name dictates!)

I recently discovered a method of decoding the Dawn Of War sound files and use them for the mod, allowing clean sfx for gun firing to ambient/background booms and explosions!

But best of all, i have cunningly placed a few speech sounds into some of the longer reloading guns.
Here is a sound file example of what would happen when you fire that Bolter!

This is just one of the rather entertaining speech phrases i have included.

This is only a selection of guns in the mod. We also have guns from the Necron, Eldar, and Ork races.

This mod features various sounds and designs from the Dawn Of War series produced by Games Workshop. Las-Cannon design based on Numgun's Eradications Wars.

Maybe change the spawn sounds to speech?  "Puney Eldar, you can send 'arf the boyz 'ome!"

Maybe that could get annoying from 5 orks all saying the same thing at once....

Yeah i thought that, im changing the victory roar. Spawn sfx.

Im only adding speech to the reloading sfx of the minigun, the barret and the minimi.

These are the weapons that have long shooting and reloading windows, and besides, in larger battles you get killed a lot before you reload lol! Im trying to get as many different dialogues in the game as possible to even it out if that helps!

btw you havent centered the sig lol!

Hopefully, when you fire it, instead to that brief 'click' it makes you will hear a space marine yell "FIRE!"

FYI, I still have all the WH40K mods you've released.

This is looking like it'll be even better. I'm more excited about this update to it than any previous one. The sound effects sound like they'll be a lot of fun to play with.

If you download that little clip i posted, it will give you an idea of how i incorporated speech into the gun sfx.

the distance sfx is what im really proud of. Although their only about 4 different sounds they come up to be rather good!

I'd like to see some nice Ork sounds in there; like the Flash Gitz "Dakka dakka dakka". For the health pickup sound, you could have a Mad Doc or Space Marine apothecary(sp?) quote.

The spawn sound or Berserker pickup has got to be the WAAAGH!


If you havn't figgured it out by now, yes I'm an Ork player :D

I rekon though, im gonna have to include a drop down box in the mod configurator to allow players to change the speech sfx from ork to space marine etc.

Can anybody do that? I suck at mod configurators lol! Just a setting that allows me to change the sfx folder.

Exacly. I might be removing a few of the ork guns though.

They diddnt look that good now that i think about it. I will try to replace it with a better looking gun.
