jump variable
« on: April 23, 2007, 06:14:50 pm »
Let jump height be dependent on time that the player holds the jump key.  After a certain maximum time has been reached, the player jumps at maximum height even if you're still holding down the jump key.  Simple suggestion...

Hm. There is already a thing like this. Hold down the upp/jump button a short time and the soldier makes a short jump and if you hold it long he makes the long jump.

OBEY!!!

I think that there should be a map option, in map settings that is like... jumpheight. Imagine the possibilities for kz maps... ahh...
Anyways about this I agree, though I can see it getting annoying holding up while trying to run right, throw a nade, and fire while jetting...

Or the knife throw?

I think thats what he meant, and I think it might be interesting but get very cluttered when you are...

It can only improve!  If you look how it currently is, holding down the jump button for too short does nothing.  With this feature added, you'll still be able to play like before but you can also jump less high...

Well, as it is it already does have this to some extent, so it's not too important.
I thought about it, and when would you want to jump little? (like if I held down jump for less than the time it currently takes to do any jump at all)
I am but a figment of your imagination. You are creating me to see what perfection is.

Climbing maps.
You can do miniflips that are nice but I would like to precisely control how hight I jump, now there are 3 levels (I think), miniflip, backflip, bigflip.
