This needs to be moved to General Discussions.

I did nothing to mine, except I moved the prone key to left Shift, and the Team Chat key to G. Makes them easier to reach while moving.

I also decreased the mouse sensitivity. Better for aiming.
Don't say that you're Magic. Because you aren't, and I am.
All-around good with weapons that aren't long range, except in TW.
Now be careful out there, soldier.

I have throw weapon set to space. Everything else default.

You could just try messing around in the key settings since it really comes down to personal preference on this. Try binding stuff to keys like shift, control, spacebar, middle mouse button, and the mouse wheel. You really need to test the settings on your own to come up with a layout that suits just you.

Hey coconut. Just played with you (Spiff Kanga).

All I did was change prone to space.

And when you said you have trouble changing weapons, it sounds like you use your 'A' finger. Just use the middle one.

(And also, have a look at aussoldat.com (Down at the moment). Most of the Aussie and NZ players go there.)

Almost entirely default, but I changed prone to C because X is uncomfortable for me to reach

I'm left-handed, so default setting wasn't comfortable for me.

arrows - movement
right crtl - grenade
num 0 - prone
num del - throw weapon
num 1 - change weapon
num 2 - reload
, - chat
. - teamchat

The unquestionable facts are:
  • Game author(s) usually think for a long time (before they release game) to find the best (in their opinions) keyboard settings which will be optimal for the majority of players.
  • When player is using default keys he (or she) don`t need to change any settings after re-installation game or on every new PC on which he will play.
but of course control keys (like the favourite colour player, or favourite weapons etc) are only personal choice and everyone can have own opinion (which settings are the best for this person). :-) Personally in Soldat I use all default control keys.

I have the defaults, just that I set 'switch weapon' to the mouse wheel.
