m79 and barret
« on: June 29, 2006, 02:15:15 pm »
I know this topic has been overuse many times but isnt it ten times more anoying getting killed by an m79  then a barret. I dont really find gettting killed by the barret that frustrating.
But the M79 is a differnt story....

I must agree.

With M79 I end up saying "Damn that weapon..."

But when I get killed by a barret I say "Oooh nice shot ;D"

Why couldn't you just post this in the existing topic rather than make an entirely new one?

I only hate a weapon if someone is using just the one, and does not switch.

In my humble opinion, I think using either one is easy. Except in extreme distances. 40m+ it is harder.

Where do you come up with 40m?
In-game meters, or real life meters?
If in-game meters how do you judge that?

Not for me. Barret deaths are more annoying since I generally don't have a chance to react. The same with off-screen auto spray. The M79 is generally too short range to allow for aimless, off-screen pot shot kills that those weapons often get. Plus, being a close range weapon, it will allow me to actually see the enemy and give me a chance to react/kill him as opposed to other weapons.

I hate it too. Especially if I'm trying to have a CTF against a team of about 7 M79-whores.

Don't even think about giving me that M79-takes-skill crap, either. I've used it. It's not so hard.

Barret honestly doesn't bother me too much in most cases.

M79 should never be taken away from Soldat, because its the only weapon you can shoot behind corners (except maybe granades) so that autos cannot harm you.

I, as a regular m79 user, find barret shots so much more annoying because, as MR. Domino said, you cannot dodge a barret shot.

I find that being the 4th in a multikill more annoying then anything.

I don't mind getting killed by either, i just repect the good firing. How many people are going to make threads bagging the use of M79 and Barret??? I'm a bit sick of it. Get over it, people. Can't we make a M79 and Barret dedicated section? I'm sick of people posting their complaints about the M79 and barret.

I'm less aggravated at Barrett users than m79 users, because the barrett actually does take a steady hand. The m79 reload time needs to be lengthened, or a delay, or something to make it more balanced.

I hate when the m79 goes over my head and it still manages to kill me. I mean wtf? It didn't even touch me for crying out loud.

Yeah, that can be annoying. Makes me think either lag is projecting the shot in a different spot then how it appears on your PC, or perhaps the hit radius of the shot is quite large and triggered whenever an enemy is near it, despite not detonating the shell on "impact."

I'm assuming you've played soldat since the kill stats were implemented, you know how it says stuff right under your kill? It'll say the distance. The soldat screen is 50m wide.
