I want to start u guys off on the simple basics of m79 i hate it.I was just in a deathmatch and everyone hadem and thier was me all alone with a ak74 it gets on my nerves so bad is because everyone uses em.I mean i kill people with bullets and it seems every1 likes the easy kill they cant step up to the challenge of 1 on 1 grueling match with bullets spewing all over u but instead of that u get 10 progectile grendes all around u.I dont know i just want that damn gun out it ruins the basics of playing a shooting game well thats enough of me just had to let some steAm off.

true, but your treating the m79 like its crap...even with a spas you will get kills, but M79 excels in the same type of maps that the spas does. The spas wont pwn the m79, and vice versa.  Yes, in long range maps, barret or ruger or ak can easily beat m79....but the m79 gets their payback when it switches over to smaller maps

Just learn the movements of m79ers, most of the m79ers that use it alot are predictable when facing an auto, also use the ruger, easy weapon to pick up and its a 2 shot kill. Also stop being so emo about a friggin game...

Why does everyone whine?

First the barret...then MM fix it. Now everyone whine about the trigger time etc...

Now its m79....

The only thing the weapon really needs is accurate splash damage on the user. It should not be common for a M79 user to fire point blank and take out its target but not himself as well. Otherwise, the weapon is fine, though I wouldn't mind seeing it's range reduced somewhat. It's really not that short ranged at all, at least as far as the practical range for most encounters go.

In arena 2 m79 is easy to beat if you stay on top. with ruger you just hit them every time they show themselves and if they try lobbing it you dodge.

I went through a bit of an m79 phase and I got really good at the arc of it's grenade and I'm still really good with it.  Almost all my shots with it are well placed and hit directly on, even in mid-air.  But whenver I'm facing a pro all they do is jump of change direction in some way when they see me about to fire and I miss.  I wouldn't call it a noob weapon, it's just the perfect weapon to use against noobs.

ill agree with you on that def. There are other weapons that need changing more than the m79

I used to play with the M79 extensively on 1.2.1 (Before taking a year-long break), and I grew to love judging how fast someone was moving in the opposite direction, and doing an off-screen kill with it. It didn't happen often, but when it did, it felt good. Now I suck with it (Due most likely to the previously mentioned year-long break, I'm sure).

I'm going to agree with everyone who said that it is easy enough to dodge if you know what you're doing, and not just rushing predictably forward.

Like others have pointed out, you dodge it. try rolling backwards on the ground when they fire and only the splash will get you unless they miss :p

But you see, saying this will not solve the problem. Soldat is a fast-paced game. They don't want to adapt to someone else and become careful and slowly approach, people want to rush.

yea there has been issues about this in the forums but the m79 is balenced in certain way in big maps its easy to dodge but in small maps like what e_a said it wouldnt be a litte harder technachly impossible if you have good aim though the bullet dips.

i think m79 is ok for the person how is start playing
but they are players that are so good and they have a good shot
even if is a large map they can take you down easely
they just wait in a place where you cant fire him and then
they come out an kill you ¬¬
for me the m79 is a wepon for new players
but is ok
i still can whot the good ones =P

Personally, I hate it. There needs to be a longer reload time or some other balance added to it. Only a few people actually use it well, and I can tell who is a new player and who is not.
