soldat getting too laggy?
« on: June 29, 2006, 10:18:07 pm »
All the game I played today were in lag. It just started laggin like this today. Is this happening to anyone else? I mean its almost impssible to play with it. And this is not normal lag. It lags like this tru the whole match.

Whta I think is happening is this (happens to me):
You played soldat a lot and in the early days, before you were somewhat good, lag didn't mean much because you just liked to fire away that HK MP5.  Now that you're more into it, you realize how every bullet counts - and if that one bullet that counts didn't kill the enemy because of some minor lag, you seem to get upset about that lag and think the game has gone corrupt!
...as humans, we set our expectations too high and always want MORE and MORE - I know this because I do it too!
Can't think of anything original to put here...

That could be it.

I disagree.. I rarely experience any lag, except for when I'm running MSN, winamp, FRAPS, ARSSE and all that at the same time. However, my computer just won't take ctf_chernobyl and ctf_temple.. I have no idea what's causing this, it just lags the hell out of me.

It's kinda funny, lag. Most of the time, when a large groub is coming right at me(maybe 3 or so), it sometimes lags for no reason. Somehow I end up being the only one alive, after just pulling the trigger in desperation. It seems I play better when I can't actually see what i'm doing.. Alarming.
I fucking miss all you cunts!

I see lag when laggy people join a server or when someone fires a minigun or two. I don't see it being more of a problem, compared to other on-line games, too. The Soldat Wiki entry references a growing lag problem, but as far as I'm concerned it's just not there.

Maybe a lot of people were using a Mini gun, that happened to me a few times...Ran into like 4 people who used that gun to get too one side of the map to the other faster... Lol, it was a bad game :P .

Thank you very much Nick for this userbar!! <3

i dont usually have any lag.. I had a little in U13 INF, but it stopped after about a game. Just sort the lobby by ping an choose the lowest one(ping wise)
Your acting like your having a duel and your opponent gets a pistol and you get a spork.
Isn't that pretty much what it is? I dunno wtf a spork is, I suppose it's way weaker than the pistol since you compared that to this.

Its the type of lag which your running one second and the next second your screen freezes and then unfreezes with a bullet in your noggin, dead.

Your computer can't handle everything going on in soldat, so the FPS drops.

I got the same sort of Grafix card, and I get no problems, but the only prob I get is if I have everyone on my screen, and theres an all-out blood fest, then I get an error, but I just press Esc a few times and its fixed. Try staying away from blood fests unless you have a better grafix card.
Just another soul to burn.

Lag just doesn't happen unporposely like you didn't change nothing on your computer, and today you got 150 ping and the next day you get 300, NO. There are many soldat european servers, maybe you played in servers not close to you or you modified your setting or maybe there is just a program running in the background.

You either are running some program, you live too far away from the server, you have dial up, or you downloaded too much porn.
I'm away.
