Beta testers hate AK?

Ok, this concerns realistic only but to me, it seems that the beta testers/ weapon balancers hate the AK, and LOVE LOVE (LOVEEEE) the steyr/AUG

lets seeeee ill start with why AK is bad in 1.4

- RECOIL

ok, this is pretty much the only problem, when i jump in the air and fire down on somone, i want to at least be able to hit the guy, with the recoil it takes me 2-3 seconds (we all know how valuable 2-3 seconds is) to actually know where to fire, and by that time he killed me.

-damage

damage...im not sure, but ill tell you in the next thing ima bout to say

-Rate of fire

it should be lowered, and damage should be raised accordingly...it shouldnt be a weaker steyr.

AUG/Styre

+accuracy

the accuracy on the aug is like dead on, it's really rediculous
couple, the accuracy and the rate of fire, it's like a beam, a lazer of bullets

+distance

wasnt the AK supposed to be the "long ranged" auto (im not sure, i just read that somewhere) however, the AUG has a much father distance, and keeps it's speed  longer






beta testers, please consider this on the next patch, hopfully coming before the end of summer.

It's ok.
It's not a weaker Steyr, it still does loads of damage and fires a little faster, stop talking crap.
Steyr is a bit stronger, but it's still a weapon which you can't judge by it's stats...

i know in a few hours of gameplay ill be able to play great with the AK again, but ...blah

ever since 1.2.1 the ak sucked ass, I'm not sure why but they keep adding bink to it for no reason.

I'm pretty sure, that you testers aren't being very creative in helping degbug the soldat system. Uncreative testers are always the worst.

AK was ok in 1.3.1. It had no bink if you knew how to use it - 1 click = 1 shot. It didn't make any difference with FireInterval=11. Now there's no chance of using it this way efficiently. ;[

Those are the changes from 1.3.1 to 1.4.  Keep in mind that 1.4 have a different kind of recoil that makes the "hold trigger, release trigger, reposition crosshair, hold trigger" tactic of firing worse.

On the other hand, the ak style of shooting, "click trigger, click trigger, click trigger" and so on, is being benefitted.

Be sure that we are reading your comments, as well as everyone elses, but too keep in mind that we have had months to test and change our minds, while you have played less than a day and already have an idea of which weapon is overpowered and not.

also look at the changes, where you can see that it isn't too much of a change since 1.3.1.. I think the biggest change is on ruger damage, which is minus 30, but the ruger is still powerfull enough to make 1 hs = kill. To be fair it could be nerfed additional 30 damage without taking away 1 hs= kill.

you might recheck your maths.  113 - 107 = 6 and not 10. while steyr is lowered 3 dmg points. So it ends up with ak being 3 dmg points less than steyr in 1.3.1 compared to 1.4.

The reason for the additional +1 bink (and not +2 as you suggest) is that AK is a "click, click, click, click" kind of fire, weapon. While Steyr is mostly used as a "hold trigger, release trigger, reposition crosshair, repeat" kind of fire weapon.  This tactic for using steyr worked great in 1.3.1, because of its kind of recoil. But now, with 1.4, there is another kind of recoil, which heavily favours the "click, click, click, click" kind of fire tactic. Thus making AK more effective.

also, there isnt any "fireinterval - 1" as you suggest. Let me show you the changes from 1.3.1 to 1.4, yet again.

TO be clear this is regarding realistic mode, because all i really play is TW


and to micheal, the "click click click" fire method for ak is correct, that is how it's used, but with the 1.4 patch this is useless because accuracy is gone to shit, i dont think it's possible to shoot directly down if you jump.

test it..how long can you fire at one spot accuratly, probably 1 or 2 shots. im an extremly accurate and amazing AK player (in 1.3.1) anyway, im sure you can ask alot of forum goers, and im even having problems controling it at all.

the ak is trash. I'm really displeased. before it was a unique weapon, but now its exactly like the steyr and minime. Right now I honestly can't tell the difference between Ak and minime. They both shoot sporadically. My bullets are honestly hitting the ceiling sometimes. I can't kill anything. I've been trying all day only to discover that without the old ak, m79age is out of control. The new autos are too innaccurate to kill anything before it gets close. Ak was my favorite weapon, and now its utter weakness. If you guys thought it was overpowered, you should have changed the damage rather than making it into another sloppy shooter like every other auto. I mean really. Right now deagles and m79 are upright owning AK. Its embarassing.

Barret is balanced enough now because i think the new arc and bink is punishment enough for any snipers trying to charge to the front line.

socom is fine really, i really don't notice the difference as much.AK...feels different, although it can still be mastered and supposedly still as effective, it's going to take us a Lotta time to get used to.

minimi feels too weak, although still useble. This is really where i don't understand you testers' logic. I have NEVER seen anyone complain minimi being too strong. in fact, it's one of the rarest weapons to see in the game except maybe in realistic mode.

DE is pretty sweet, it was fine in 1.3.1 but now more people can have the privilege to enjoy it because it's easier to use a bit, and I believe that's what soldat should be all about, instead of making every weapon equally hard to master, why not make them equally easy to have fun with?

Spas, to tell the truth doesn't feel unbeatable at all. it still requires some skill to use, and it's suppose to be dominating at medium to close range anyway right? I think people are complaining against it because what used to be a weapon that people could easily defeat at medium range now has a chance to kill them, and naturally people would complain about that.

in addition to increase in damage (which is great)

i'd say slow it down just a tad, and an increase in movement acc.
