Missing text problem

Here's an image of the problem:


Basically none of the players names are displayed in the action messages and I can't see the respawn time.

Happens whenever someone captures, returns, scores or joins/leaves the server.

Their name is shown when they chat though.

I use the "1.3.1 settings" though I've tried default and it still turns out the same.

Any suggestions are appreciated.


EDIT: Also forgot to mention the size of the KILL text:


It's so large that I can't see the name of the person I've killed or who's killed me.

Did you modify the Font.ini?

Did you change any of the settings in the Setup?

I said that I used the 1.3.1 settings that have been mentioned here:

I also tried using default font settings but it resulted in the same problem.


The settings I use in the soldat setup are mostly default. I use fullscreen and no resolution change. The other settings I have I've tried toggling on and off with no effect.

I've also tried restarting after install, with no resulting change.

I did try searching for my problem, before I had decided to post a new thread.

None of the search terms I tried returned anything relevant.

Well I've found the reason why the players' names weren't showing up.

The english.txt language file doesn't have the %s prefix before the action messages. I guess when I selected english as the language in the config instead of just not touching the setting, it got messed up.

Is this only me or is it a bug for everyone else?


EDIT: I tried adding in the prefix manually, but it just ended up offsetting the lines somehow, so the text is randomized..

Does anyone know how I can get it to work properly in english? I'd rather not have to play in spanish all the time.


FINAL EDIT: Problem solved. I noticed that the default.txt in the root txt directory had the proper formatted english language lines, so I used that. Everything is working great now.

Yeah man! You Killed man, You Killed! Great Job! No, just joking. Fix the dang errors! I hate always having to rename myself The Red Flag and stuff, the name is AAAAAAAAAAA in my Name box and it annoys me.
