1.4 Problems
« on: April 30, 2007, 02:16:44 am »
When I play more than 10 minutes my Soldat is still working but the screen looks like a screenshot. After that I pres alt+tab twice then it works again. This can happen to me even 10 times in an hour. Its not very harmfull but pretty annoying. Also you should know I'm using Vista if that has something to do with this problem.

Edit: Sorry if my explonation is pretty confused, but ask if you don't understand.

I'm having this exact same problem. The screen will freeze up, but you can still hear the game in the background. Alt-tabbing twice will allow it to come back. It happens quasi frequently, but I haven't timed it.

I also have windows vista

as for my setup, it's just whatever the default is set to when the game is installed. (minus a change to a higher rez. 1280x1024)

I don't have problems like that but I think this thread is right place to tell other annoying bugs in our new version of Soldat. I think new deathconsole sux because of the places where it puts the killing guns.

Because there is kills where it disables some kills the killing weapon so when you have many kills and deaths in deathconsole it puts killing weapons wrong place and then deathconsole is only the mess.

Are you agreed with me?

I also have a 'problem' where if I minimize and then try and go back to the game, the screen will flicker back and forth between the desktop and the game. Sometimes it'll manage to get the game started again, other times I have to kill it.

I'm not sure if this is a soldat thing or a Vista thing. *sigh* can't wait for updates... :(

Is there anyone with Vista that doesn't have this problem?

I have this problem, i'm pretty sure it's to do with vista. It happened very rarely back when i had xp but now its practically everytime i minimize on vista, doesnt matter if i hit f9 or alt+tab still get this error and have to kill soldat

"Could not initialize DirectX Graphics.

You must have installed DirectX 8 or better.

Try running Soldat in compatability mode."

:/

My problem isn't same like yours because my screen freezes before I do anything elese than play and after it has freezed I have to hit alt+tab before it works again.

You will probably want to go back to Windows XP, or, better yet, switch to Linux.

Nah, there's nothing really wrong with Vista, but the videocard support and all that other jazz that XP has built up along the way isn't there yet. I'm sure within the year things will get better.

Anyways, I managed to fix screen freeze by updating my videocard driver. I have an Asus G1 laptop and had to go to their website to get the latest videocard driver. Afterwards, things are running pretty sweet.

I hope everyone else has gotten their stuff working.
