Machetes, I'm afraid to say, owns katanas. In another sense, my machete was rusty, so anybody who survives a cut from it will die from rust poison.

Heres some thing I found on digg in this storys article:From what I can find, this sounds fake. The date I found on one copy of the article was November 11, 2006, but there's no reference to any of these names in the Montana Standard newspaper archives (online).

shotgun and yelled "I've got a loaded shotgun and if you don't get out of
here right now, I'm going to blow your head off!" The intruder took the
none-too-subtle hint and fled.

hiding. There the ex-boyfriend came at the girl to attack her as she held
the phone--with a 911 operator on the line--in one hand and a Ruger .44
Magnum in the other. A single fatal shot ended the attack.

Two teenage girls were asleep at the one's Bakersfield, Calif., home when
two armed, masked men kicked their way in through the door, confronted the
young women and demanded money. When one man grabbed a wallet, one girl, a
guest in the home, grabbed a 9 mm and opened fire, mortally wounding one of
the invaders. The other escaped. Police said the girl would not face
charges.

I'm unable to find sources for this story, and it seems I'm not the only one realizing this is a fake, this is from that blog:

I can find no reference to David Burien.
The story has no author or news source listed. There is no date, time or address of where the incident took place. I would wager that this is an invented account. There's absolutely nothing on the web (aside from this verbatim account itself) to indicate this ever actually happened, or that anyone named Patricia Harrington ever was a champion clay-shooter anywhere. No news station, web site or paper has published this story
