Server Help: People can't join.

WinXp Pro.
Windows Firewall

Main use for the other computer is for torrent d/l's and server hosting.

Hello,

I'm going to try to keep this simple and quick. Some friends want me to host a server, I can't. When I create one I get to the lobby, but when people try to join they just get stuck on "Requesting Server" I've opened all ports and even disabled my firewall just to test it. Here is what I keep getting.

Quote
Step One: Ingame Connectivity Test
(?) Sending PING test to 70.129.142.160 on UDP Port 23073... FAILED!
(?) Sending REQUEST test to 70.129.142.160 on UDP Port 23073... FAILED!
(?) Sending JOIN GAME test to 70.129.142.160 on UDP Port 23073... FAILED!
Step Two: All-Seeing Eye Test
(?) Sending test to 70.129.142.160 on UDP Port 23196... FAILED!
Step Three: Remote Administration
(?) Sending test to 70.129.142.160 on TCP Port 23073... FAILED!
Step Four: Map Download Connections
(?) Sending test to 70.129.142.160 on TCP Port 23083... FAILED!

TEST RESULTS:
- Total Passed: 0/6
- UDP Check: error (Vital)
- ASE Check: error
- Admin Check: error
- Download Check: error (Vital)
- Final Test Result: FAILED! Please check your network configuration.

Also, I get "Requesting Lobby... not able to join. Trying again in 2 minutes" This the issue?

I may be missing something. Is Windows firewall just

Add Port > Insert Random Name > Click port type > enter number > ok

Do you have a router, and if you do, have you forwarded the ports?

no router

Bear in mind, that even if you don't have a seperate router, your modem may have one built in.

Following quote seems to indicate to me that you have multiple computers.

Main use for the other computer is for torrent d/l's and server hosting.

If that is the case, then you will need to read the manual on how to forward connections.

Try this:
Open your start menu and open the 'Run...' dialog. Type in 'cmd.exe' and hit enter. Then type in 'ipconfig.exe' (hit enter) and paste the IP here.

This will show us what your local IP address is and tell us wether you're behind a router or not.
