Ok in the startup demo there is a player thats all black, how do I make mine look like that? I tried editing the picture things in the gfx section but when I colored it black, all of them turned black, I just want my own player to look all black. Can anyone help me please? I am new to the forums so I had no idea where to post this, I just purchased the game and I love soldat, been playing it for ages.

I was wondering how long it'd take for someone to ask this...

..have a little look around these forums for a 'soldat skin changer' (use the search), or use google. It's possible to change the colours of all your body parts. Not sure if it works for 1.4, but all it does is change the html colour strings (or whatever they're called) in your soldat.ini file.

go into player and change your shirt and pants color, not the gosteks, that and get the soldat skin changer.

The black player in the intro movie is 'The Soldat Ghost'. The ghost is the result of a bug found in earlier versions of Soldat. I don't know exactly how to reproduce the Ghost in older versions.

You could try to emulate the ghost by changing all colors to black in the 'Player' menu in Soldat.
To set your skin color to black without having to download the special program:
1) Open up soldat.ini
2) Scroll to [PLAYER] (somewhere at 80% of the file)
3) Remove the value behind 'Skin_Color='
4) Type 'clBlack' behind 'Skin_Color='

Note: Do not type the accents, I used them so this post has a proper layout.

Edit: I tried your method DePhille, it didnt work for some reason, I deleted the value after "skin_color" and added "clBlack" to it, it stays white, when I go back to check it adds another line for "skin_color" and when I change that to "clblack" it gives me a missing ini error when I start up the game. Any ideas? It doesnt let me start up the game till I delete the second "skin_color"
