If the MP5 is out, then this calls for the Spas-12.

Would a beta tester be able to tell me why they made the changes to the mp5?

I think they were trying to make the gun take a bit more skill to use.  (not saying that the old one was an overpowered weapon, it was just easy to pick up and use)  I guess they thought the less bink would make it more acurate and compensate for the decrease in damage.  But apparently not.  Personaly I think they should raise the damage back up to 1.3.1's but keep the increase in reload, that's all it really needed.

I say it matters little that they made it suck, just use something else. I mean come on, if 1 gun sucks, just use a different. It's not like it matters what gun u use, as long as you kill stuff. But yeah, loved the mp5 and wish they made it better, but the spas compensated.

The whole point though is to have a balance amoung the weapons.  The fact that the shotgun is good doesn't do anything to help the mp5.  It hurts for being a far superior close range weapon.  The reason people don't like this is that they don't want a perfectly good weapon go to waste.

I personally feel the HK-MP5 has been improved.  Its easier to kill other players with it.

Well it is more accurate. For someone who can use that extra aim to it's potential will land more hits, which can more than compensate for that occational extra bullet needed to kill due to damage loss.

Well, I did observe the gun becoming more accurate, but it simply does not make up for the increased reload AND the decreased damage - if at least the reload had remained normal I'd still have called it ok, but right now it DID get overnerfed. Especially since at the ranges where the MP5 usually really shines (read: up someone's face), the reduced selfbink rarely matters - even if you manage to hit one or two bullets more, the other ~14 you shot up to then, which would've hit anyways, all were weaker than before.

And at longer ranges (where the reduced selfbink kicks in), the bullets still are weaker since the lost three damagepoints add up to the already reduced bullet velocity, effectively still lowering your damageoutput (at least that's my observations, of course there are also situations where it might be the other way round).

And the increased reload time seems to include just that split second the second guy that you couldn't drop dead with your first clip (by one or two freaking bullets) needs to frag you. :P

I'm not claiming its become useless (hell no, I'm still using it in 1.4 as my primary), just in comparison with most other weapons its simply too weak, imho - Especially compared to its rival, the shotty, which used to be on par with it and now simply owns the MP5 in pretty much every situation.
