No one can join...
« on: May 12, 2007, 04:50:49 pm »
I've forwarded all correct ports, TCP and UDP, and am running 2.6.0 beta Dedicated Server.

The server has Windows XP Home Edition, a 696 MHz processor, and 128 MB of RAM. It is hooked up via LAN to my router.

I can connect using another computer on my wireless network, which is broadcast from the same router. I can play, but no one else can.

Help?
Don't say that you're Magic. Because you aren't, and I am.
All-around good with weapons that aren't long range, except in TW.
Now be careful out there, soldier.

Did you turn off the built in firewall in winxp?

Also, you can check the Port Checker to make sure that your ports are forwarded correctly.

That's probably because one or more of your ports aren't open.
Please run the Port Checker and paste the results here.

Well, something is blocking access to your computer.

This can either be incorrect port forwarding or a firewall blocking the access. Please try turning off firewalls and review your port forwards.

Problem: I need a good, free port forwarder that will work with a D-Link DI-524 router.

The one I used is only a trial version that SUCKS. It can't update the router itself, so the ports are still blocked.

Just do it manually, portforward.com has a step by step guide.

Hi,

There's a special page for that on portforward.com, like chrisbgk mentioned: Soldat on DI-524. Also, don't forget to add your gameport+123 as UDP forward. It's the ASE port. Once you've done that, check the Port Forwarder again to see if everything succeeded.

I know what's wrong. The router itself has a firewall built in. If that port forwarding service doesn't work, then I'll have to get an ethernet hub and hook up the cable modem itself to it. Then I'll hook up our router and the server through the other end.

Most routers allow you to disable the built-in firewall; that said, when ports are forwarded correctly, you don't have to.

My dad would KILL me if I disabled the firewall.
