Red Vs. Blue Project Recruiting
« on: May 15, 2007, 09:22:05 am »
As discussed in the "Red vs Blue anyone" topic, or in PM's, me and NinjaGimp will be making a machinima series that is close to Red Vs Blue, but not a mirror.

We need ten actors (not just puppeteers, but voice actors too) and a cameraman who needs to have Fraps.

That's all we'll be taking.

Email your voice byte to magicoddeffect@gmail.com

If you want to audition for the role of the Alphas, say this:

Quote
You know what? This war sucks.

If you want to audition for the Bravos, then say this:

Those stupid Alphas took the middle bunker!

Please include your Soldat Forums username with the email.

Now, get to volunteering.
Don't say that you're Magic. Because you aren't, and I am.

Sounds interesting.  Now, where the hell did my mic go...
To sum up my point: We had a multipage debate about toilet padding. (Putting TP in the water so you don't get splashed.)
And we still don't know if dead guys can keep a stiffy.

Speak naturally. I don't really care if you have an accent, as long as we can understand what you're saying.

Actually, I'm an American, and I'm good at impersonating a lot of accents.

Ditto.  I can do the evil-villan type creepy low voice quite well.

Yay! I can't believe it took this long to get the idea of making videos for Soldat (which is exactly like the Red v. Blue for Halo). Yay!

Hey, one question @ Magic/NinjaGimp: Will we be using ventrilo or teamspeak to communicate during this project? I mean as in discussing script and ideas. Or will we use other alternatives such as email/instant messenging...or like IRC chat?

I'm good for anything! LETS GOGOGO WITH THE VOLUNTEERS!!

Domokun is in on Alpha, and I think we should use Teamspeak or IRC for communication.

Teamspeak would be better, due to voice chat.

Ventrilo.....haven't really used it.

Oh, and you can trust Teamspeak and IRC. Most of the Soldat community uses IRC.

And Teamspeak is used by most of the Battlefield community.

The teams are even at 2-2....we need a cameraman...Or a good screen recording program.

Screen recording prog could be Fraps or something similar...I'm familiar with fraps but it would be hard to be a cameraman *and* a player. I use fraps for all my WoW machinama I've made in the past and edited with Vegas.

Maybe we record demos from a spectator and compress them into a movie? I dunno if its too tedious.

Also, Ventrilo > Teamspeak imo =) But I can trust Teamspeak. Used it before with my past guilds.

Edit: I don't exactly know if this is possible, but can you disable (for the time being) the "You are following %t" script that appears if you spectate? If that is possible with a similar script running or something like that maybe we can just record demos with no fuss whatsoever, keeping the screen clear for the action in the movie. :D

We could use Esdee to replay the demo, and record it that way. It has an option for "No Text".

We'd just take a spectator demo, and we'd have the cameraman capture it.
