I'm idling in the IRC channel and plan to do this for the next several hours.
If you need to get in contact with me really badly, you can use AIM, MSN, or just e-mail me. The information is in my profile.

Well, it ain't gonna work. The name, that is.

We do need a name....

Hmm....

How about Stuck in the Trenches: A Soldat Machinima?

It is going to be on a TW map...

iDante, you're fine for recording. You're gonna be a voice actor and a cameraman, but sadly you can't be a puppeteer then.

Now, I'm gonna need all those who want to be puppeteers to volunteer. We need ten.

And you can be both a voice actor and a puppeteer.

Also, I need to ask you guys something: How are we going to sync the film with the voices?

I say that we record the film in parts, and sync individual audio parts with the movement while we film.
Don't say that you're Magic. Because you aren't, and I am.

I say that we record the film in parts, and sync individual audio parts with the movement while we film.
1. Record audio. Make it sound good, edit it, blahdibla.
2. Make every person play audio at same time, and have them move it out as it plays.
3. Edit the video to make it fit more perfectly with the audio.

I don't understand. Why can't iDante be a puppeteer? He doesn't need to screen capture as you do it, he's regged.
How I would do it:
1. Puppeteer it while recording sound and iDante makes a demo.
2. Screen capture the bits of the recorded demo that are relevant.
3. Put the sounds with the video in the right places.
I am but a figment of your imagination. You are creating me to see what perfection is.

Count me as a puppeter and a voice. Btw , if you change name do i need to make new IRC channel? Its f*cking hell to make this L bot come to the channel. I suggest even when you change the name of a film we still stick with #Soldat.RvBproject channel :)

Yes, keep the name of the channel.

I see some problems with what you guys said.

One, it'd be VERY difficult to get it playing all at the same time.

Secondly, for you Hiro, he can't be a puppeteer because he wouldn't be able to follow certain players or move the camera like we want. He has to be a spectator while we film.

Recording sounds is VERY difficult to do at the same time as filming, too.

I'm leaning towards recording each line as a separate file. Then we sync them individually with our film. We time the "head bobbing" with the time of the lines, and we're all hooked up on Teamspeak so I can cue you all.

Voice chat is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. Typing is simply too slow. If we don't have voice chat, this will be a hell of a lot harder.

Just a note: When this is done, you might want to upload it to Machinima.com

I think before we can really start writing or doing voice acting, we should work on getting down the personalities of the characters.
Seeing as Magic Odd Effect came up with the character's names, he should start with a few lines describing the character, then the person voicing the character can write out a li'l 10-second or so skit to show off the character. We can link those together and make that the prequel. It'll let people know what they can expect from each of the characters and the environment.

One question , HOW CAN WE DO THAT IF NOBODY IS AT IRC CHANNEL?
