A fix for some users
« on: May 16, 2007, 01:00:08 am »
firewall settings have bothered many, and i have something that could help a few out.  this pertains mainly to those with lobby server connection errors.  there are some conditions that define who this will help.

windows XP
a firewall program (norton, AVG, etc.)

what happens is that your account on XP is limited, and/or you cant modify the firewall settings.  what happens is when soldat tries to access the internet, the firewall blocks it without letting you know.

to be able to fix this, log onto an administrator account on XP. then start soldat.  an option should come up that says something like "soldat.exe is trying to access the internet."  it then asks for your preference. select always allow.  then go into firewall settings and find exceptions.  browse for soldat and add it to your exceptions list.

i hoped i helped someone!

For NOD32 just goto setup, then tell it to ignore the Soldat folder. I saw a lot of AVG fixes so had to figure this out solo.
