Right now I'm planning to make a game but I have no coding experience or anything so if anyone is interested in this concept lemme know. Me and a friend of mine (SlayerDZ on these forums) could provide graphics, sounds, level design and all of that little things that no one really care about.

A short description:

2D top down shooter that combines games like Unreal Tournament, Crimsonand and Soldat.
Would have multiple gamemodes like DM, CTF and INF. I would also like it to feature Survival (possibly zombies [retard]). I'm wrestling on the thought should it have  Classes or characters and I also can't get a good idea about a good weapons system (like in Soldat when you pick your primaries and secondaries).

This is not some immature idea and I'm really doing detail planning but I don't know how to code. Also I would like it to be moddable, as in changing the sprites and sounds ingame and the characteristics of weapons and movements etc.

If anyone wants to hear this in detail just add me to your msn or e-mail me.

Well....it would be one team is playing it as RTS style and controls maybe zombies or legions of undead stuff.

the other team use first person shooters, and will pretty much do missions or defend or something.

I've been kicking around this idea for a roguelike with incredibly realistic inventory and weapon features. The inventory is based around how many weapons you can strap to your coat, shove in your pockets, or stuff down your pants. It was inspired when I saw this video of a kid pulling weapons out of his clothes. You're also able to attach weapons on slings or holsters for easy access. The idea for weapons is fairly similar to DoomRL, but you're also able to try to dual-wield anything (though you'll often drop the heavier object), allowing for such awesome combinations like a shotgun and an assault rifle, for example. There'll be as many real-life weapons as I can get in, each with their own stats. You'll be able to chamber weapons in different calibers with kits both official and unofficial at your base. The ammo system is based around magazines. You'll rarely find loose ammo while in combat, and loading your magazines in the field is not very fast. Whenever you see a magazine lying around, you'll also get an estimate of how much ammo is left in it. Weapon jamming will occur, and it will be fixable.
That's part of what I've got. As far as I know, the only roguelike even close to this is DoomRL.

Well, to probe my memories for stuff I want to say on this thread, I found one really good one that has potential.

If I had great game-programming software and enough knowledge of the programming language, I, with my sound techie, can make a PC game about Lego town and it's happy people. There are going to be pirate ships in there, ninjas-for-hire assasinations, zombies, and yes, rocket launchers. There could be a plot to the story, but the graphics and making of lego people and dinosaurs will come first, then the story: Two seemingly normal-looking cops must protect the town from destruction, attacks, and other crimes. I dunno, it's gonna be like soldat: No story. ;)

Open-world, and packed full of hilarity.

Might as well do the backround story to mah game :P

So the game takes place after humanity has colonized hundreds of solar systems, but for hundreds of years the colonies were isolated, before the invention of the jump drive [retard] (a fictional FTL drive). The game is set 80 years after a brutal conflict, the war which shaped the current game universe called the great seperation.

First produced and invented on Earth (which was practically drained of resources and was mostly evacuated during the human exodus), the drive was installed on numerous exploration ships and was sent to the colony worlds to spread the technology and the word of peace, so that the colonies could escape from isolation. Soon enough a Federation of human worlds emerged, and was the ruling government for hundreds of worlds for 20 years before a dozen numerous worlds seperated due to the fact that there resources, and people were being drained and sent to other planets.

Soon hundreds of worlds seperated, worlds rich in resources. The federation soon started to deny independance to worlds, and soon these worlds were rebelling with violence. They began to invade dozens of colonies, and more worlds seperated. More and more planets fell back into isolation and soon enough only 21 planets remained under the name of the federation.....but new factions emerged out of the chaos.

The Democratic Union of Donal Egus, was one of the first which formed out of the first colonies to become independant. Fearing invasion from the federation during the early years of the seperation, there ships are more focused on defense, but are slow and unstealthy. There ships are medium sized, and extensively use projectile weaponry. Their fleet mostly consists of frigates, destroyers, gunboats, and defenders (think a mobile suit, with the legs and head removed, and are used to defend capital ships from fighters).

So for this faction
Weapons: Good
Defense: Good
Speed: Bad
Maneuverability: Medium
Available ship slots for you too command: 4

The Dominion of Independant Worlds formed on the outskirts of the galaxy and at the edge of human space, where habitable planets are scarce, although the factions territory is very large. Due to the large area of space that there defense force has to cover, their ships and carry tons of supplies and are fast with weaponry that include missiles, projectiles and minimal ion beam tech. Most of their fleet is consists of high speed interceptors, corvettes, and huge assault carriers, with small cruisers used to guard these carriers against enemy capital ships. Dominion ships aren't very maneuverable.

So for this faction
Weapons: Good
Defense: Medium
Speed: Good
Maneuverability: Bad
Available ship slots for you too command: 4

After hundreds of worlds seperated, some worlds were cut off from the help of the federation, and were easily conquered by the fast expanding Rising star empire. Although their technology may not be advanced, the amount of combat ships produced outnumber all the other factions. Their fleet most consists of fighters, corvettes, frigates, and large mobile manufacturing plants. This is the only fleet in game which can produce fighters while in combat, to replace damaged or destroyed ships, but with the cost of some points. Weapon technology is mostly based on missiles, and projectiles.

So for this faction
Weapons: Bad
Defense: Bad
Speed: Medium
Maneuverability: Medium
Available ship slots for you too command: 7

The Alliance of seperatist Colonies was made from colonies who wanted to stay seperate economically, but be militarily alligned. Their fleet is very diverse, and there ships are not designed on a single goal. So some ships will be based on attack, some defense, others speed. It may be good to be varied, but their ships are limited.

So for this faction
Weapons: Aids
Defense: Bacta tanks
Speed: Painted red
Maneuverability: Bass guitar
In short, there varied.
Available ship slots for you too command: 3

The Colarbo United Fleets existed even before Federation did, and are descended from colony ships who decided not to colonize planets and instead  stayed in space. They became a nomad subspecies of humanity, due to constantly being in zero gravity. They do not govern any planets, and their population is small. They lurk on large kilometer long spacecraft. For combat, they use a large number of defender/fighter hybrids, and frigates which use ion beam technology for weapons.

So for this faction
Weapons: Good
Defense: Medium
Speed: Medium
Maneuverability: Really Good
Available ship slots for you too command: 2 (they seriously lack combat vessels :D)

And finally.....

The Federation of human worlds. During the great seperation, the federation lost a large number of their Cruisers in combat, so they don't have many ships left, and what's left are old but still very powerful ships. A federation Cruiser carries 1 squadron of fighters, and uses missile, ion beam, and laser weapons. There huge, and deadly.

Everything: Good
Available ship slots for you too command: 1

I'm still working on it. So edits will be common  :-X I'll add another faction for lulz.

Zombies. Anything can be a weapon, even a good ol' bucket. Lots of civilian guns. Barricading. Realistic lumber. Barricades. Barricades. Shitloads of zombies. Barricades. X amount of zombies on item made of Z material breaks it.

Powered by something like the source engine, only with no bugs, no steam, no lag, better graphics and better physics. Completely new materials/maps/models/etc.

One was a WWII dogfigthing game. You could chose to control either Luftwaffe, Royal Air Force or the French Air Force. It was a turnbased game, with red arrows indicating the current aircraft's path. If an enemy aircraft got close sometimes real WWII photos of men using the aircraft's turrets would be shown with machinegun sound, indicating automated defense. Constantly would Richard Wagner's song "Ride of the Valkyries" be played in the background. Bloody annoying considering your average game could last for hours. =) You could also choose to play very hard missions like to fight yourself through brittain against massive groups of aircrafts and bomb cities like London.

AAA! I know EXACTLY what game you're talking about, but I don't remember its name either!

EDIT: Got it! "Over the Reich"

Already made a game(http://blackdevil0742.sitesled.com/ninja/index.html) but it's not that kind of game I really want to do.

So here is my real game.
Game title: Extinction - Planets At War.
Console: PC

Not gonna go so deep on the idea but it's supposed to be a RTS with units that you don't mass product and have to "feel" and care for your units. 4 factions, Limited ammo, AI which rocks by interacting on obstacles and friendly or hostile units. Giving covering fire, ammo.
/\/...more here but it's just too much.

NVM here're some texts I've been writing for it...kinda lame but it's fun to make something :)

Take from the "about" page:

Overview
Extinction - Planets At War is a RTS game set in a futuristic world. The player will follow the story where earth has gone to war against an other being from the Andromeda galaxy. The A.I. will affect a lot on the battles, soldiers will ask for ammo, give covering fire, take cover, help injured squad members, etc. Besides fighting the other being from the Andromeda galaxy other creepy aliens will also be present. They will be on certain maps, if they hear battle they might be drawn to it attacking you and your foes and as the A.I. will work they'll use houses, walls and other obstacles to make their way to the victim.
*snip really long post*
If you haven't ever tried it, I think you would have liked Natural Selection because it plays very similar to this (substituting real players for AI units, though). Marines have limited ammo that the commander supplies as well as new guns, it's a combination of FPS and RTS.

Anyway, I have tons of game ideas, but as I plan on actually getting into the industry and later developing them I'm not at liberty to go into too much detail. I'd really like to create some games on a very grand scale (MMORTS) where a great majority of the game is controlled by the players, in particular, player controlled 'factions' which are groups of players all working as a single army/population under a leader(s) and control plots of territory with resources, etc.

I would make.....

A super smash bros. sort of game where it includes ninjas, pirates, and zombies, not to mention items such as squids and orgasmic toys.

We need more people like you to make games.  We also need to make a 3d ragdoll physics game composed of ninjas throwing stuff.

I also have a Sh*tload of guns ive drawn in flash laying around, i DID give some of em away to some people that where making some madness interactive mods... but i belive it was laid down... :P

@6th_account: Turn based dogfighting game? i come to think of an OLD game called Critical mass, you controlled a squadron of fighters, you used the muse to bend the ships direction and direct fire at the enemies.... i even think there was a replay option so you could see the fight in real time... pretty fun, though the graphics sucked... :P

A game placed in near future where the world was flooded by the climate change. 3-4 factions fight for the remaining land and resources. Takes place in Central America, and other high grounds.

The gig is that there are thousands of other players - ranging from the commanding general and foot soldier cannon fodder to jet pilot and tank driver. Players start as simple soldiers, and rise in ranks. Battlefield-like, but more organized. Eventually you're able to become one of them who commanded you.

Buildings are different - some are designed to "download" soldier's consciousness' and wake them back to life in a new body in case they die, while power plants keep the other buildings running. Assembly lines produce a steady flow of vehicles and oil pumps suck out the last natural reserves of black gold. The core is the headquarters, where commands are issued to the faction.

The fighting happens everywhere - land battles are hard to win if the enemy is free to bombard your faction's troops and critically damage your buildings. Naval battleships can destroy anything with their powerful naval cannons, but not if sunk by submarines before that happens.

The main goal is to conquer other factions and take over the land. When that happens, a new game starts all over again, perhaps in a new map?

"Sort of" inspired by Planetscape Planetside.

Another one was a game where you controlled a little ground-based turret against a number of computer turrets. Everyone fought against eachother and you had to figure out the angle in relation to the wind. You could choose shots to either bounce, trigger or fly beyond screen's top and down back. A shot fired would leave a trace coloured the same as your turret, and you could shoot the ground below a turret and he would recieve fall damage. You could use missiles, ICBMs, shields, terrain-generating shots and even make your own. You could also before the game started decide how sharp and bumpy the terrain was gonna be. I think it had a short 4-letter name... for some reason I get the word "Doom" in my head, though it's probably not it.

Thats probably Bang-Bang for Windows, or a game called Scorched Earth. Both are classics

Generic,fantasy-ish, turn-based, grid-combat, rpg.  Like an rts with no buildings, level-gaining units, and only using what units are started with.  So far, only the storyline and unit stats are done.  Hopefully I'll learn enough of this to make a crappy game by next year.

Come to think of it... how would people react to a tactical FPS war game that supports like 100+ players? imean, after playing a full 64 player server on bf2142, its freakin chaos, then imagine, how would 100 players be... :P

Yeah, if possible I always play on 48 or 64 player servers. You actually get a feeling that you're in a war. It'd be sweet to play a game that's kind of like BF2(I have BF2142, but I'm getting sick of the future now), but with more realism, destructable environment, supporting more than 100+ players and all sorts of different armor vehicles.
