Suggestion, forum personal profile

Just a few extra fields for personal information and one extra picture would suffice. The forum skin must be kept the same I think, and SoldatForums won't host extra files etc. so the SoldatForums-MySpace idea isn't really realistic nor very interesting I think. Better make a MySpace site and link to it then.

Okay, so I overreacted a little in order to get my opinion through - BIG DEAL!!
I'll admit I can't come up with many of them. Or any, in fact, but that's not what's essential here. I HAVE seen them in the past, but right now soldatforums and Myspace is really the only webpages I ever visit. I rpomise you they're uthere though..

And about the myspace/sf.com thingy.. No need to worry, girls. We'll just have to keep the options limited, and that's it. Also, instead of putting in a number of boxes saying "Real name", "Occupation", Social Security number", "Grand Cayman acc. number" and all kinds of useless* stuff. The profile ardly have to change. Just keep it as it is, but add one final box in which you can write whatever you want.

*You give me any kind of personal information that I can use, and I will rip you off.

Make your own website and link to it! There, you've already got a MySpace. FileAve.com has free file-/ and web-hosting, and you can get a website with the domain <YourAccountName>.FileAve.com. Or, if you have a Google acct., you can go to Blogger.com and use your Gmail acct. (they integrated their databases several months ago) to make your own <YourAccountName>.BlogSpot.com, which has a lot of areas for likes in its profile section, or just one conglomerative Interests area.

It might actually not be difficult to add HTML to make the textbox you're asking for, but I'm just assuming that it is from FLAB's silence in this thread.

Or maybe where every person just gets a page to do with whatever they want, so that they can just like, be cool and all and put whatever they want on there, with maybe a few nifty things, that would be really neat.

It's just a text box and a picture. That's not exactly changing the soldat forums into myspace..

Argh.. It's not really the same, Vijcht.
The way I want it, people would always be able to change their personal profile. If they did that here, assuming there's gonna be many pages in your thread, everyone else would never even notice.
And there's the issue of spam! I'm confident that your thread will get spammed up, wheres in my idea the only person who could inflict sam upon it would be the writer himself, but he wouldn't be able to take it out on anybody.

If Vijcht's idea works out well I think we should just send new guys to introduce themselves there and let Chakra's thread be used if people still want to tell us if they are going out for the weekend, month, ect. Just thinking out loud...

Save time for the admins in coding, possibly find out who truly is interested in you (through comments if they feel like leaving any), and post whatever personal stuff you want, not one-time as in this concept or in having to change the whole thing periodically (and therefore others who check it only occasionally cannot view its history), but in dated entries.
