Buddy system?

i think there should be some sort of buddy/friend system in soldat....like in counterstrike. something similiar like xfire..but built in to soldat....wat do u guys think?

Once the bugs in 1.4 are ironed out, there should be functionality like this in the lobby.  Maybe it'll end up in Soldat eventually.

edit: and once the lobby has this functionality, third party/fan apps should be able to do it as well (a real Soldat buddy list, not some VB6 app that nobody uses )

You could look up the lobby server, then look up every server using ASE and thus collect a list of all players. But then again, that should be a webscript and not a client application, so the extra lobby functionality would be great.

I was planning on working on this a while ago, but other bugs in the 1.4 lobby/server need to be fixed before I can (in other words, I can start work on it once 1.4.1 is out).
