The spin off time would be a great solution. Maybe even combined with overheating...
hmm lemme think about this for a little

Miniguns don't overheat.

The reason they have multiple barrels is because if they had only one barrel then it would overheat easily because of the continual rapid rate of fire going through a single barrel... With 6 barrels the amount that 1 barrel would overheat is essentially reduced to 1/6 of what it would be.

This is why miniguns have 6 barrels. - It allows for a faster rate of fire and greatly reduced overheating which allows it to fire off more bullets in a shorter space of time efficiently.

It is best to use the minigun on enemy players that are already weakened.  It'll be easier to finish them off.  Overall, the minigun really serves no purpose.

Infiltration is one of my favorite gamemodes.

I see... well, I usually see someone running around with a minigun on Alpha, getting a few captures from it's boost. It actually stops people from following you, because it pushes them away when trying to chase you. And it's bloody difficult to counter. And if they don't do that, then they'll spray Bravo's base so that Bravo can't set up frontline defences anywhere.

If not for killing people, this gun is fantastic in helping your team.

So,you're saying that a high caliber, high rate-of-fire minigun isn't used for killing?

Boosting is lame.

It should be made so that it has virtually no kickback but the same amount of self-bink/recoil

Aside from that the minigun needs to be left alone.

i think the spin up/down time with an overheat is an excelent idea and should be tested.  i also agree with whoever said it, make a huge crack at it and if that doesnt work replace it.  miniguns are actually very accurate, so dont mess with bink so much.  maybe slow the player down.
There is no knowledge that is not power.

its a nice weapon, whats  wrong with it? even if it gives u a boost, u go to the enemy's base and get the flag, and be ripped by the enemy's guns because u have a unreloaded gun.

i just think its accuray and damage need a boost..

as of the moment it has a pretty low DPS even if you ARE hitting with alot of the bullets - anything closer than point blank and all the other autos own you <especially mp5 will kill you before hes even lost half health>

and dont get me started on the 1 hitters, as they can easily just run away <because of the self knockback> and the majority of shotgun can do the same

its really not good as a killing weapon

maybe increase accuracy damage, and decrease the self knockback i dunno

its generall agreed its not a very good weapon atm cept for boosting <which is  a pretty crazed idea anyway>

I think the minigun should be a static gun, so there is reason to give it power and no recoil.

I only use the minigun to surf around and use it like Spiltcoffee explained, I don't really think anyone uses it to kill unless you like spraying all over the map.

I believe that the minigun was meant to flood out narrow, high traffic passageways. I know a few places I would like to have a guy using one in Infiltration.

But this gun is mainly a defensive gun, and I agree, it is weak. Its not that the gun is unbalaced, its that people try to use this gun to attack someone. Let them walk into your wall of lead.

just need better accuracy, slight longer start-up, and spin-down.

the minigun balance is going to get better.  But i figure they are bumping it's strengths up slowly, to be careful.  Even a slightly overpowered minigun could ruin the pub games, making them laggy and filled with bullets.
Spin down would be great.  It would alter the way you use the weapon, which means it will make the game more fun.  Hey, i just realized no one says fun much in this forum.  It's just too serious i guess.

It's a capper gun, like the spas. It boosts you speed and helps you jump easier and then provides wide spray to the target. 'Cept it's useless close range, unlike the spas.

I think it is utterly useless becuase if your using it as a cap gun, you are completely defenseless and you better hope you have a lot of support becuase if there is an enemy shotgunner or two your pretty screwed. To be honest, it only needs slightly more accuracy and damage to be pretty fine. Everything else, like a faster startup, isn't incredibly needed if it kills faster, then it would be great for its original (as far as I know) purpose of supprising high numbers of people.
