Virus mode/Zombie mode

Okay, this is an idea I came up with a bit ago.
The goal for this mode is that there is one player randomly selected to be the virus/zombie, this person is the main target basically, if he kills you you become one of him and try to kill others, the final person left living/normal wins.

Sounds good?

Doesn't sound bad, I think this can be done with a script. There wouldn't be a way to know who is zombie and who is not, though. Anyway, winning should be like getting 10 points or something like that, because everything would happen very fast i think :P. And after winning you could be the first zombie.

I would say that there should be a marker over the Zombie's head  Or some kind of color difference.

The easiest to script would be to reduce someone's health to 1%, so he starts bleeding. But then find an alternative way of handling damage, so the zombified player can take 5 times the normal damage but still be at 1% so he's bleeding.
That in combination with a chainsaw should already be clear enough for other players to seperate undead from living players I think.

Or you could make it a team game mode.. i didn't think about that before. So blue would be normal and red zombies (or as u wish). When you are turned into a zombie you are automatically sent to the other team. It would be cool if alpha and bravo could have different gosteks, is that possible with mods? If it is, then this game mode can be completly done with a mix of server-script and a mod.

YES!!!11! It would work, but much programming is then needed!


It would work perfectly with Henito Kisou and I's zombie mod (Almost finished) "THE LAZARUS PROJECT"

The zombie player would have much more hp than regular soldier, otherwise it would just be pure pwnage. Maybe zomie lord thingy should also have a ranged attack.

If there is a mod with the graphics i wouldn't mind doing the programming stuff, it's not really a lot i think :)

And also, this topic should be moved to mods i guess.

Hehehe :D U have this from CSS? ZM ? :P i Luved ZM on CSS, played it everyday on my clan server :) until the clan died...grr was the best zm server on whole css, only bad admins :(

As for weapons, what would you do? Maybe the zombie can use only chainsaw, and the players could use only SOCOM. I guess it would work fine with any weapons as long as the zombie can keep respawning
A lot of cheap tricks, but no real skill.

Living players are on Bravo team, Zombies are on Alpha.

This is actually around the same as infection mode in Source games.

I believe this COULD be done with server side scripting, pretty easily even.

Lets set every player on Bravo. Let them run around for a little bit, set someone to Alpha, give him chainsaw + more speed than others have. Whenever he kills someone on bravo, the victim is transfered to alpha.

When there is one player left, the survivor wins.

No, this would be done with server scripting, as mentioned. The dedicated server supports scripting.

And yes, this can be fully done with scripts plus mods :)
