So is anyone else a fan? I'm so into it.. I got the one for GameCube, not N64.

Tell us your favorite character! :D

My favorite used to be Roy, that cheap bastard, but now I usually just pick randomly.

Was a Link man on N64, but on Melee I chose Roy for the massive damage and reach, and Fox for the superb agility.

Not necessarily microsoft games (Maddox Game's 'IL2 Sturmovik' kicks 'Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator''s candy ass anyday) but I am a pure PC gamer, so this is all weirdness to me.

Oh I forgot, you don't get good simulator games on consoles do you (tee hee). ::)

Well actually I don't have anything to add to the thread, other than gloat about PC games. I'll be quiet now.

Captain falcon and Ganon, especially Ganon, are REALLY slow. You need to check out Roy or Marth, even Link for god's sake.

link was kickass (n64) because you can counter things with the reach of your sword without being as horribly slow as DK

I suppose that in the right hands anyone is ok, my brother used to use DK and he was pretty good. and Kirby was cheap as hell.

Captain falcon is the fricken fastest person in n64 version. So don't tell me he's slow.

Oddly, I've been playing this again lately. Best character is Marth, but I can use anybody comfortably. (Even Pichu. : D)

I just cleared the 100-Man Melee with Marth last night in something like 2:4X with 75% damage. I've done it with him, Fox and Kirby -- and with DK, but in his case I just spammed the ground pound because I wanted to unlock Falco.

Me and my friends, the only Gamecube game we ever play is Melee... And Medal of Honor Frontlines. But anyways, my favorite character used to be Samus, but now I don't really care.

Just no Ice Climbers or Ness

By the way, does anyone here, when playing with friends, disallow the C-Stick. For some reason everyone in my town deemed using the c-stick as cheap and we forbid it amongst ourselves.

Errnt. I used Roy for months and decided I preferred Marth. Roy has his appeals -- he's easier to use and he does pretty good damage, and everybody loves the Flare Blade -- but Marth is powerful to those with the finesse to use him. You need to hit just right.

Edit: Heh, as a matter of fact, this is part of why I like Marth -- he's not usually considered such a good character. Everybody says Roy is better. They might even be right, but still.

I just sat down and beat the 100-Man Melee with Link, Ganondorf and Zelda/Shiek shortly ago.

The Zelda trifecta is coincidental, I just thought they'd all be good characters to attempt with.
