Ness. He was the most versatile charater for me, and I could do some nice combos, too. Solid Snake is going to be my next favorite character automaticly for the new one coming out, even if he sucks. [retard]

I don't own the game personally, but I'm borrowing a copy from a friend at the moment, and it feels more like a permanent exchange, since we've had it for at least six months. The game plays way too well to give it back.

I usually use Marth, he has a fun play style that I'm used to after everybody around me using Roy for some period of time close to ever. Captain Falcon is fast (in most aspects), and Falco is a good fighter, so I use them too. My best character seems to be Yoshi, however. No idea how that works, but I haven't lost with him before. I'll choose Pikachu and Kirby every now and again, too.

For the 64 Version, I'll choose either Link or Kirby.

heh, been playing both since release but I'm still only average at it (compared to some real good ones like isai, ken, etc...)

favorite, huh, almost any char but I'm probably best with mario fox and jiggs.

anyone else looking forward to SSBB online play btw? :o

SSBB must have Online play, they are stupid otherwise!!

When it comes between Roy and Marth, i have to say Marth, he has the better reach and speed... if you hit people with the tip of his sword, youll do massive damage, with Roy you have to get em with the middle of his sword (thus he has shorter reach, if you want full damage potential!)... though Roy packs more punch, hes a bit slower than marth, and only idiots would fall for his flare edge....

My alltime favourite is Luigi however, and i will totally digg Pit for SSBB... ^^

I like Luigi better than Mario for his extemely lucky spontaneous 'backfire' when doing the Luigi Cannon. His taunt KO'd tiny Marios. :D

I can't wait to play as Meta-knight though.

My all-time favorite is Marth, since his aerial attacks are quicker than Roy's, although he lacks power, I can quickly ramp up damage with him, and several combo of items.

EDIT: Marth's better than Roy because he deals more damage at the tip of his sword, and has great range.

Falco is great since his Reflecter pops enemies up in the air, and his spike attack (Down+A) is quick and always spikes someone down.

Kirby is fine, because I can grab enemies while near the edge and fall off the edge with both enemies. But Jigglypuff is better in aerial attacks, and the Down+B is deadly.

I've been playing as Mr. Game & Watch recently, and I find his attacks powerful, but bizarre. His Oil Panic (Down+B) is the most powerful move in the game, as it can absorb Three Samus' laser attack and Ness' PK Flash, then it is dumped on enemies for 100-170% damage. ^^

But you know what the problem is? Ness is so de-powered since the orginal Smash Bros. on the N64.

EDIT: Has anyone known that the fan can pop enemies up in the air? Good killin'

People seriously underestimate the fan, get someone skilled with that thing and they can kick some tail.

Yes...you can throw it at people to start a nice aerial combo.

How many of us here got over 3,000 feet in the Home Run contest with Gannondorf? *raises hand* (still on-topic >_>)

I am skilled with the fan. I don't usually use it because i can only play with my sisters because nobody wants to come to my house... and my dad doesn't want to play so.. And my little sisters say: No fan because it sucks! Then i show them how much it "sucks" against CPUs.

Also with captain falcon, i rarely have to use specials because my smash attacks and regular attacks are powerful enough already.

I know a way you can do it with Yoshi, he's too easy :D
Use Yoshi, jump over the sandbag, and hold A + Down, and he will constantly kick, and do damage to the sand bag without the sand bag go blowing away. Keep doing for as long as possible, then wham it!
Remember, its all fun and games 'till someone gets hurt.. then its hilarious.

Sheik all the way.  It's all about the shit talking and humiliation in my house -- we take the game way too seriously and always try to one-up each other with the advanced moves (for the record, I loathe SHFFLing).

all I used that thing for was button mashing, it would piss off who ever I was playing. my favorite power-up would have to be the beam sword or maybe the laser, I was pretty accurate with that back in the day.

For powerups, the star rod pwns all. It is the serious darksiders weapon.
