I actually got this idea off the Game Arena client. (and probebly any other server client which is external from a game)

The Join Game page needs a "Wait button", basically, if a server is full, you're put in the "queue" to get into the server next. Although that may not work (lag issues of the server) so it might just be fastest connection gets in first.

Heres a screen of placement of this button:

yea, this way not as many people would flood the server by clicking "join game" over and over untill they join

maybe where the "requesting server" text is displayed, it could say something like "in queue:position #"

This is a really good idea, I cant believe I didnt think of it, all the times it says "server full"
It should tell you what place in line you are, if there is a list, like chameleon said.

Ye I've been waiting for something like this for ages but I never thought about suggesting it
btw add a poll because of the new rules
I've been banned from that server for spamming the connect button :p <.<

Yes, this would be a good feature since it'd provide a good alternative to having people spam the Join button... I can't even count how many times people get banned for join flooding the server, then come crawling to me asking to get unbanned.

This is a great idea.

Just think of all those times I cant get into u13 public ctf cause of the full server.

If only mm would release a new version of soldat with all of these good ideas.

mind explaining what ASE does to help this?

does the ASE client have a "notify when slot opens" button?

Yea, it'll request the server details ever few seconds and if a slot is open it launches soldat.

wouldnt this be kind of a bother in a poular server? There could be like 20 people in line, and if your late down the line, you would prolly have something better to do than wait for a server.

I just seem to think that this thread doesnt need a poll, considering i've got, i think, everyone here at the moment who agree's. A poll would be a waste of space.

Yes when you double click on a server that is full, it will open up a dialog saying "Server is full #/#" then 2 buttons saying "Force Connect" or "Cancel"... Then it refreshes the server every 2 seconds or something untill a slot comes free, then it automatically launches Soldat.

I like this idea, It would obsolete clicking on the server as fast as you can until someone leaves.

The main reason i want this here is because when you use an external client for this, you have to load up soldat to get into the server, and your spot may have been taken by the time that happens.

I like the idea, and having it built in-game stops people getting in while you load (incase that sounds selfish I'll apologize in advance).
