I know there's already a topic on the ruger, but that's about normal mode. I frequently use it on r/s, and I would like your opinion on whether or not it's overpowered. It's a one-hit kill, but the fire rate and bink (and frequently lag) makes it hard to hit over long distances. My second best weapon is steyr, and when ruger users are not sneaking up behind me I can take them out most of the time because they will be binked enough that they'll never hit me.
That being said, maybe it is overpowered. It does have a sometimes one-hit kill.
Also, I would ask if fierce reactions to overpowered weapons are necessary. Doesn't asking nicely work a little better than typing in caps and calling people noobs while having a weapon balance debate at the same time? That's happened to me once already.

It's only "overpowered" in Realistic mode, and even then; so is everything else.

We do need seperate weapon settings for each IMHO.

It's not overpowered. Only overpowered in comparison to other weapons. Do you really think it takes 10 bullets from an AK to kill somone? Or 30 minigun bullets to absolutely slay someone? A high powered hunting rifle is no different. In the right spot, it would take you down. In my opinion, all the guns are "underpowered".

I think it is overpowered. And the only reason I would say that is because it makes the barret (minus zoom) obsolete.

We need different weapons for realistic though yeah.

The ruger is a lot beter than barret in realistic(and in normal IMHO) , shorter reload, one hit kill. But I think the barret is the exact same in real and in normal? maybe not

I do not believe the ruger is overpowered because of the great extent of how you have to aim it

I actually respect people who are good with rugers (or deagles).

And you are right, T-Bone, however it just depends on the skill of the players

My two cents and then I'm leaving: the ruger is only a one-hit-kill weapon if you successfully shoot someone in the head while the server is lag-free, otherwise it takes two shots or even three to kill. However, you only get four relatively slow shots and you're severely limited by the fact that you can only shoot in straight lines unlike the deagles which have much more bullets and can arc over obstacles.

It's fine, but a damn beast in the hands of someone who is skilled with it, just like any other weapon in realistic mode.

yeah, its way too overpowered. You can see how popular it is in realistic servers.

Maybe if leg shots are not ohko. or only headshots. Then the barret will be able ot compete

I don't think popularity is a judge for overpoweredness. Anyway, I see more people using steyr than ruger.
Also, leg shots aren't always OHKO. You have to take into account damage, bink, lag, and general luck. The leg section isn't that big. It takes 1~2 shots to kill right now, but if it takes 2~3 autos will slaughter rugers.

Mm, it really does bug me when some not so experienced group of people runs along and blasts all of their rugers at you, but if an experienced player uses it; then I don't mind so much. Seems like it should still be 1 hit head shot kill, but maybe the rest is a bit too strong.

Isn't the ruger already a one hit headshot kill in realistic? If you're fighting somebody who's experienced with the auto they use, then you either headshot them or you'll die since the ruger has such a long time to wait between shots :/, even the 26 bink is nothing with the amount of time that you have to wait between shots.

Well, it seems like most people agree. I just hate how people go RUGER NUB without even explaining why. They seem to assume any near one-hit kill weapon is overpowered.

THE RUGER NEEDS MORE ROUNDS!! im crap wif ruger and find it hard 2 reload after 4 shots everytime. if its goin 2 hard 4 rounds then u suggest that it reload faster
