Code: [Select]
function OnPlayerDamage(Victim, Shooter: byte; Damage: integer): integer;
begin
  result := Damage;
end;
The 'r' in result is still not capitalized like it is under other events. :(

I've taken a look at Enesce's manual and I must say some features look very interesting.
Thanks to all the server developers!

Thanks, but the changelog is very incomplete though :(. Would be nice if aspects where backwards compatibility is lost would at least be mentioned.

Firstly the fact that you have to change all the scaling in draw text to old value - 0.8.

Also setWeaponActive stopped working in my script!...
Any number other than 0 just doesn't work.

- Modified DrawText function no longer removes 0.80 from Scale.
  This means all existing scripts that use DrawText must take 0.80 from their existing
  scale in order to achieve the previous size before this change.

Hrm, okay, thanks. Well never saw that one. I only looked at the one included in the zip.

But anyways, the latter point still stands, setweaponactive doesn't work for me in a script that worked fine with the previous version. Nothing in the script has changed! It just doesn't disable them in the menu and I can also select the weapons.

Also, is there a way to make the new soldat work with the previous server version, because if this is simply not going to work anymore I am forced to use the old one.

WriteLn( GetPlayerStat( plID, 'name' ) );
SetWeaponActive(plID, 7, false);

Some (perhaps relevant) information: This routine is in a subroutine named UpdateToGameMode called from AppOnIdle, OnJoinGame and OnPlayerRespawn and does not work in any of them.

It simply does not work. I checked the name to see if it was correct and it indeed does show up without changing the menu state of the weapon.

So how long do we still have to wait for the setweaponactive fix? Can't you release a temporary version with just this fix? I don't care for any of the new functionality.

hi zyxstand dream on!, Enesce said to me... Im not going to release a temporary version of it.
He Said:
Rent a server at mine or wait longer!

So the conclusion is you wont be able to use createbullet, setweapon active and all the other functions that broke until he released 2.6.2....
And for createbullet you could try out running the server on debian or suse that might be working ....

That's lame.
This sort of elitism is enough reason not to rent a server from him then. Besides if he doesn't release the same server versions to the people renting then this means this is actually a nuisance to them as well, since they can't test these things locally. Be that as it may, I guess it's his right to be an ass if he wants to since he spent a lot of time on this version of the dedicated server.

Heh, all I said to you Spkka was if you want a minor fix for setweaponactive then my servers have it... Don't get your panties in a bunch.

Keep bitching like this and I should just remove scripting all together...

Haha! That would probably make you really popular! =D
Remember though that the people you want to rent your servers are probably the same people that read these forums. =)

Besides, who is getting his panties in a bunch here? Seems like you are the one overreacting =)

It basically boils down to "There are more important things"; such as finding and fixing the crashing problems that seem to be affecting everyone, than minor things. Not to mention, between releases, binaries tend to be less stable, because of experimental things or incomplete things.

you know I do agree with enesce though - you should respect him more for what he has given us.  I can patiently wait for 2.6.2 to come out and hope it's fixed with that.  I did go to http://enesce.com/help/ and clicked on changelog - apparently 2.6.2 already exists?  Though the changes about CreateBullet aren't shown there :/

I wasn't really talking about createbullet. I was talking about setweaponactive, which actually used to work fine but doesn't anymore rendering a script I did useless. I don't really care about the script but it's more the fact that he uses this functionality as selling points for his servers, which is what I responded to with "lame" :P. But honestly, it doesn't really matter. As I said, it's his right. But it's kinda lame :P.

i totally agree on that but then stop saying such idiot things like rent a server here.. or 'im not gettingany for this so why should i be all peachy to you'
And i am indeed very thankfull for what he has done.
and if this is the case:

then freekin just say so on a normal way..... he never told me that ;o

anyways i will wait aswell as all the others, but Enesce i hope your not using this as a point selling more servers because that would suck imo man. Stop saying such things like rent at my place if you want the fix......
