Whenever I join a server it just closes my soldat, I have tried with video compat checked and unchecked, and suggestions?

What about windowed mode (or full screen if you're already trying windowed)?

Try uninstalling, then reinstalling Soldat, that seems to fix a lot of problems.

I get an error message saying, "The application has failed to start because d3dx81ab.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix the problem." I'll try reinstalling later.

I'm having the same problem. Needless to say, this is really pissing me off.
Soldat 1.4 would give me all those module errors, and now 1.4.1 just closes out every time I start a game, or join a game.
I'm registered if that motivates anyone to actually fix this for me. :p
I've tried:
re-installing
restarting computer
removing everything, and then RE-DOWNLOADING
Changing the bit rate, resolution, and all that jazz around, etc.
Praying
========
And still, nothing.

Check your INI to ensure that you don't have it disabled on your end.

Also, has anyone in here tried the other listed fixes, such as removing cmodule.dll from certain places? (Read the sticky)

Disabling sound may also fix it for some people; if this is the case for you you may have old audio drivers, try updating.

Only suggestions is to restart in that case; it's possible that some error is causing loading to fail though.

I get this problem, and I've tried everything possible. Also tried checking force software in the setup, and it won't close anymore but will simply show a black window once you try to start or join a game. You can hear sounds, but no visuals. Only way out then is to press alt-f4.

I have problem ...
When it wants to play such sound of error mums continuously but window does not show message and window flies continuously " Fly " upwards and to bottom. Should I make what ??

I have check off :
a) Bookmark "More"
- Video Compatibility
- Blank screen while bonus fix ( ATI Cards )
b) Bookmark "Graphics"
- Fullscreen
- Antialiasing
- Bitrate ( 16 )
- Refresh rate ( Default )
- Resolution ( 640x480 )
- Video Adapters ( ATI Technologies, Inc. 3D Rage Pro AGP 2x )
- Fullscreen ( 100 % )

I have repaired error, I have presented which earlier and question beguile for minimap. Make that, what was not it such mums that ?? black and shows nothing behind it not.

OKay, so I seem to have the same problem stated here, about soldat clsong when attempting to join a server.. I've tried everything you guys said to try out, and it sadly it hasn't solved me problem.

If it's any help, I've noticed that every setting is set to default whenever I open soldat again, such as name, colour and other options. Don't know if it has anything to say..

Any other ideas, mateys?

That's hardly it. Soldat 1.4 had a lot of brand new features, and such is always linked with a lot of trouble. I suppose much of 1.4.1 is still experimental, and so bugs will occur.

I think he's done rather a good job. I don't think there ever been a followup release out so quick as 1.4.1 has been. Think about it.. 1.4 was release just one month ago or so, yeah?

Ok whenever i start soldat up it just keeps keeps loading. I click on the SOldat start up icon. Then it pops up with the Ok button and Registration info. Then I click Ok. Then my computer keeps trying to loading right after i click ok and nothing happens. Ive tried reinstalling and video compatbility.

Do you have any problems with other games?
which windows have you got?
it might be your DirectX.
Try fresh reinstalling

I had this same problem earlier. I'm not really sure what did it, but it was either downloading the april 07 directx 9, or updating my video card drivers.

O_O ... That's the German version, by the way. I'm having the same problem here (shuts down whenever I try to join a server)

I've tried almost every possible combination of settings, including the new DirectX, and updating my hardware drivers... Nothing. Hope somebody else has more luck.

ugh... the directx thing worked for a couple days, but now somehow it went back to the old problem of shutting down when i try to enter a server.

OK guys... I had the same problem but i fixed it by myself

so my questions are:

1st do you get an error on start-up of ur system, which says that you need to close it immediately
2nd do you close something on start-up in the taskmanager?

I had the problem, that on start-up my svchost.exe was 100%. I had to close it that my computer is fine but i didnt hear any sound..
After that i opened Soldat, and it closed immediately.
So i knew that it was because i didnt hear sound..

If you have the same problem, go to start -> run -> type in "services.msc" -> scroll down to Windows Audio -> right klick with the mouse on it and choose start.

I think some of you might have problems on services.msc just try to start some applications there, maybe it will work

Sounds like a driver problem, you should update your audio drivers.
