I dont like the changes but if you actually play 1.4 more than complaining about it you might find out bink is ezily controlled. If not have a nice time playing on those servers.

man.....im gunna have to go with the two dudes saying 1.2.1 is awome...cuz they know wat there talkin about! it is BY FAR THE BEST VERSION!!!!! i remember when i first dlownloaded soldat 1.2.1 off acid-play.com wow i didnt have a life bcuz all i did was play taht awsome game....that game was unique and fun...it was different and i was drawn to it for some reason....i thought everything was perfect...no better feeling than owning a barretta user or and m79er!!! especially when u knifed ther ASS!!! i think 1.3.1 is a decent version...some of my favorite guns were nerfed but i got good with some others.....but then they eventually got nerfed in 1.4 aka the worst version ever :( soldat was fun when everyone wasnt concerned about realism or schmealism...just plain old fraggin' fun :) i tip my hat off to soldat 1.2.1 and hope one day everyone realizes wat an awosme game that was and we all go back and live happily ever after!!!

Yeah, I downloaded 1.2.1 too. That's what I call a breath of fresh air. Very nostalgic too (I played 1.2 or 1.2.1 as a newb, my first soldat-version.) I remember why I always used the barrett (Easily handled! Even more pwnage than m79 is today!) and why I hated 1.3.1/1.3 so much (delay to barrett) Ah, the times...

Okay, the barrett was a little overpowered (Just a little ::) ) but the other guns really owned. I liked the font too, felt smoother than the one in 1.4.1 somehow.

minimi got nerfed!!! it already has +6 bink, now with 8 bink the gun is pratically useless at mid-long range

I dont like the changes but if you actually play 1.4 more than complaining about it you might find out bink is ezily controlled. If not have a nice time playing on those servers.

how is bink easy to control??? you must show me!!!
(the inevitable and painful truth is that achieving true bink control is close to impossibility.)

I don't think that's a nerf:

If Minimi, for instance, had -20 bink, then that's the value for inaccuracy for when YOU shoot. If the bink is raised with 8, then the bink is up to -12 bink (also called selfbink if I'm correct). Therefore, the +8 in bink is not a nerf, it's the opposite.

+bink means the gun has even more bink than before, which makes it even less accurate the longer you hold it down right?....

can i just make a query of why the hell did the awesome beta team decided the minimi needed a further nerf?

Back to positive and negative integers for the above people...

Okay, when a gun has positive bink, that shows how inaccurate you become when you are hit. The Barrett has a bink of 100, which meams that it is very hard to hit anything when you get hit even by one bullet. All of the Semis and one-hitters have + Bink.

On the other hand, all the autos have - bink, which is self-bink. The longer you hold down the mouse button, the more inaccurate your bullets become.

The Minimi had a bink value of -49. The beta team decided to add bink to it. It now has about -11 or something. This means it can fire a little big longer without having to stop firing, so it's now supposedly easier to use. However, this does not make up for the wild amount of movementacc it now has. It already had 2 in 1.3.1, all the other autos had only 1, and in 1.4 it doubled to 4. This means it is actually harder to aim than the Ruger, in exchange for being able to hold down the mouse button a little longer. It's not really a fair trade, because people bypassed the self-bink in 1.3.1 by clicking a lot, and by reducing it, it's basically the exact same thing except now the autos, especially the Minimi, are more difficult to aim, and their damage values were all decreased except for the AUG.

The worst thing with the Minimi is that no one complained about it before, when it was fine...

Maybe if we complain enough, it's MovementAcc points will get decreased...

I still own with the minimi, although it would be nice to see the MoveAcc decreased to a value of 2 or 3 instead of 4.
A lot of cheap tricks, but no real skill.

People switching from 1.4 to go and play 1.2.1 is th equivilent of switching from CS: Source to CS: 1.5

You guys are gonna get bored down there.

Why not just make a flipping weapons config for 1.4?

No, switching from 1.4 to 1.2 is not like changing from CS: Source to CS 1.5, it's more like going from a city to another in GTA: San Andreas, because you like the cars better in the older area.

Oh my God, did you just compare Soldat to a game that has VEHICLES? ;)
Anyways, let everyone play whatever they want...I started with 1.2.1 too and loved it, but I still like 1.4.1 just as well as I did most other versions inbetween...you just gotta be a bit flexible, that's all.
