Soldat shuts down when i join a server.

Everytime i join a server or start a game it shuts down.
I already installed the latest drivers for my videocard and installed Directx 9.

This is happening to me too - I have done those things too , but it still closes and stuff. I have also tried Video Compatibility , 16Bit etc. and other sorts - but still not working I'm in the middle of a tournament and my team needs me This is a real inconvenience for me and I hope the problem is solved.

Same here as well.  It's kinda tempting me to just delete the game. Whats the point of having it if it only closes? I mean... I can't even play by myself.
I've updated everything as well, and nothing is working for me.

I'm also having this problem. I've tried almost every possible combination of settings in the config program, and I've even updated directx to 9.0c and updated the drivers for my hardware... Nothing.

I really hope somebody finds a way to fix this.

I just got around to downloading 1.4.1 and this started happening. Anyone got any idea how ELSE to fix this? ><

Mine seems like an off again on again problem. Here's what I usually do.

1. Start up Soldat.
2. Tab out of it completely (so that the resolution changed back to my default)
3. Click on/tab back into Soldat.
4. Click on the Player and Server Options tabs for a few seconds before clicking on the Join server one.
5. Pick a server.

I don't know why, but when I skip these steps, the game doesn't work.

Everybody that has this problem:

Check Video Compatibility in Setup.

If that doesn't work, turn it off.

Turn on file logging in setup.

Try to join game, get crash. Now go to Soldat\Logs and send me the content of the 3 latest files that are there.

Did you turn off Video Compatibility in setup?
Do you run the game in a different resolution,
and is it windowed mode?

- I open setup, turn off video compatibility, press save and quit.
- I open setup again to check, video compatibility is still unchecked.
- I open Soldat, it screws up.
- I open setup to find video compatibility is checked.
- I open Soldat again, it screws up again.

No, I am unregistered. It is in windowed mode.

You have an old video card which doesn't support certain texture formats. Soldat detects this and switches you to video compatibility for the old font format. Once that happens it should work as version 1.3.1. Did that one work?

So I don't know what the problem might be. Did you try fullscreen mode with 16bit colors?
Are you sure antialiasing and other non default stuff are unchecked?

Checking video compatibility does not work now. But yes, previously I always had to have video compatibility checked and it worked up to 1.4.

Yes I'm pretty sure nothing else is checked.

Sigh, pity.

EDIT: All of a sudden, it works when in fullscreen mode. I have no clue what I did but it works, at least. I'd much rather use windowed mode, but windowed mode still closes upon joining/creating a game. Any fixes?
