But if you're using MapMaker or MapMaker Plus, you'll have to save after you compile
Make sure you save to the Soldat\Maps folder

It's the button with the 'P' and a circle on it. You use your right click to open a menu with the options :)

Colliders are used in sandbags and crates to block enemy fire, and also for your soldat to use to take cover if you crouch over one; look at the default maps to see how they use them.

The gostek is just a graphical scale to help mappers show how large their work is, and is useful with creating thin passages.

Thank you. :)
Oh! I have an another question: What I do, if the waypoints are not too well and the bots are running into the walls instead of flying. Is there a good tutor for waypoints in the forum? Because I didn't found it... ??? :-\

Check the bot section; there are two guides there. There's also the official manual by Marcinkowski which comes with MapMaker.

I don't know if this pertains to you but maybe it'll help somewhat; I found it from an old thread which I had posted in the bot section:

... This pic. probably does not detail the exact sector in mind, but shows the functional use of guards:

Note how the jump waypoint is not directly above the run-left, at the bottom. Go ahead and try in-game yourself; if you jump vertically as SOON as you stop running, the soldat still continues to drift forward a bit....

This download is missing some scenery graphics:
fegyverraktar.bmp
folyoso.bmp
raktar.bmp
szellozovezerlo.bmp

I don't know if this will function any more than the one you linked me to, but I gave it a try (just refreshed and recompiled basically):

Well, all I'm doing is refreshing the scenery and compiling. I don't know if that's really doing anything, heh :P

This map has lowercase file extension (.pms instead of .PMS) and colliders limit (128) is exceeded...

Also colliders are too small to protect players, sceneries behind them should be in middle level, map structure is horrible, i think it's not possible to get flag, horrible 4-colours shading, ugly uncoloured sceneries (espesially fog and those dots), it looks like you only used grid to place polygons, etc.

Small example:
Before:

After (boxes without colliders are in the back level with 50% trancparency, less spawn points, bigger colliders):

I've made a mario stage and everyone I've showed it to has liked it but I can't make good bot paths for the life of me. :'(

Can anyone do the bot paths for me?

The map was made with "Soldat Map Maker" and I've attached a screen shot, the backgrounds, and the map it's self.

let me know if I forgot any of the backgrounds

I suggest to use Soldat PolyWorks to make maps and Soldat MPA to pack maps.

1. PolyWorks is much more handy.
2. Archive with the map should contain properly organized files.
3. Have you seen waypointing tutorial 1 and waypointing tutorial 2? - I think they should be moved in Mapping Help / Resources board actually...

PolyWorks isn't working for me.

When ever i open it, it says "Error loading.  Bad file name or number" and I can't figure out how to get it working.

Thanks for the idea though.

Ok, To fix your problem, open your polyworks folder. In it there should be a file named polyworks.ini. You want to open this with wordpad, and the first thing you should see is this:

Code: [Select]
[Preferences]
Dir=(this should show your soldat directory)

If the Dir entry is not the location of your soldat folder, you must change it to be that. (Default: C:\Soldat)

If that doesn't work, you should try re-installing in different places, and make sure you haven't installed it onto the desktop.

Point one : Has everyone forgotten my request ? Does anyone care about poor old me ? But I've moved on, that 'ol map was just a little bump in the road for me; I've got plenty of unreleased maps that are heaps better.

Point two : This thread is cursed. It keeps on getting unstickied. Perhaps using some sort of Super Glue would help ?
