The space shuttle NASA just sent up hasn't blown up into a million pieces yet.

Three cheers!

I noticed that. I was walking by my TV when I saw "SECONDS UNTIL LIFTOFF:53." This surprised me a considerable amount, as I heard nothing of NASA doing another launch.

It's quite sad really, how much respect NASA has lost because of Columbia, that crazy astronaut who went off to kill someone whilst wearing a space diaper, and the various other incidents recently.

Yeah but space food still rocks.

It's not really NASA's fault is it? The man was probably on his period or something like that. Can't believe the damage one person can do...

No and what James said. How could you say space sucks....

Nasa needs more funding. Any countries space program needs more funding.

wtf do you mean 'no'? and it sucks because it has no air. the only good part is that theres no gravity so you could float around and such.

Nasa is the greatest achievement of all time.  And if it isnt they'll find whatever is.

Do you really believe they'll find it? The universe is quite a big place, you know... And mankind only has about 200 million years left... or so I've heard.

Fixed.  If everything works out in our favor and we don't get hit by some cosmic or local natural catastrophe, then we'll still end up killing ourselves.  There's no way we'll last 200 million years.

@ Vitsjydoodahorhoweveryouspellitidontreallycare: You're probably right... we probably won't last that long. But that's how long the earth will - supposedly - still be here.

That's why we need to expand our territory.....like within the next 100 years we need to atleast have off-world colonies, so if shit does go down on Earth atleast humanity will still have some hope....

pfffff do know how long it would take to even consider making a plant hospitable for human life
try 300 years just to get some sort of 'atmosphere' and even then humans won't be living on a terraformed planet for like another 1000 years
we're pretty fucked anyway

It's not that Ben, we could easily construct biodomes on the planet first and then work on stabilizing the atmosphere. The real problem is moving all these billions of people off the planet in such a short space of time. It's like an hourglass, but filled tiny little annoying greasebags that dont like change.

But still, yes, moving to a new planet is not as easy as it sounds.
