I actually found it easier to assault with the Barrett in 1.4.1.

Eh, I don't know. All I know is that the Barret is absolutley nothing like it's real life counter-part. I think that it aughta be traded out for some other sniper-rifle-esque weapon.   But listen to these words of wisdom.
barrett is good enough. we are talking about balance, not make your favorite weapons.

The barret is fine as it is. Anyways, you wont even use those 10 bullets before you die.

First of all, it's only 25 ticks. 60 ticks = one second. It's less than half of a second in length.

Secondly, it's there for balancing purposes, not realism. If anything, the delay sometimes helps me when I'm anticipating someone's movement, due to the fact that I can cancel a premature shot.

Right. I think that brt is a little overused, but...

//Barret fireinterval -15
Now it will...
//M79 bink +15
...be used by most people on pubs.

reload time is fine, its what stops the barret from becoming the only gun used in soldat.

Barret's good enough.

Pros:
1. Can kill in 1 shot (unless vest is used)
2. Has a possibility to kill 2 or more in one shot (provided the second and subsequent enemies have low health)
3. Can zoom in to look much further.

Cons:
1. Insane Bink and Movement Acc (movement acc can be almost 0 if proning in mid-air and not jet)
2. SLOW Firing Rate (240 = 4 seconds)
3. SLOW Reload Rate (300 = 5 seconds)

If you think about it, after the reload, you still need to wait for the firing rate thing to go back to 0. So you need to wait 9 seconds before you can finally shoot again. Further more, if you add in the startup time of 25, that'd slow your firing rate by a further almost half a second.

If not for all these cons, everyone would use Barret and the game would be called "Sniper".

Well theoretically 60 ticks = 1 second. So it shouldn't be wrong, especially since it was written on the weapon.ini by the official members doing the weapons.

reload time is okay, i won't whine about it. what i want to whine about is that why we have to hold the trigger to shoot.......

I think it would be better if you had the startup time.

Barret can be used even in mid-range in the hands of a good user. If the barret could fire by just a single click, its gonna be overpowered, seeing that its actually so easy to aim with the Barret aside from the bink and movement acc. If the startup time is removed, everyone would basically be using Barret too. Even with the startup time, its still a bit easy to aim, just that you have to do some careful estimation and you have to stay a longer distance away.

This version of Barret must stay.

ok sniper has bink, star up time, long reload time, slow fire rate, slow and slow shot rate and hold trigger for shot(i know is not for realism but come on ffs what weapon do that?.
m79, has star up time, no bink and a fast reload (fast vs the sniper) i find sniper less competitive against beside that bink make almost imposible to use it in a autos match or semi autos witch is almost every game in gather or pubs.

Getting off the "real life weaponry" bandwagon will spare you some flaming. The guns aren't made to be realistic. Hell, the 82 can fire off two rounds a second, and will definitley knock you down if you try to fire it while standing. The nerfage is meant to keep people from running around with the 82 spraying shots everywhere and giving people a reason to hate it more than most hate the 79. Think in terms of gameplay, not reality.
To sum up my point: We had a multipage debate about toilet padding. (Putting TP in the water so you don't get splashed.)
And we still don't know if dead guys can keep a stiffy.

Haha! I lolled. It's actually easy to avoid moveacc and bink, and it's easy to aim (point, click, hold.)
M79 has NO start-up time.
M79 has 40 bink.
M79 has 3 sec reload. Brt has 4 sec reload (To prevent someone from spamming, I explain : It has 4 seconds fireinterval, and 10 ammo)
M79 has moveacc as well.

"make almost imposible to use it in a autos match or semi autos witch is almost every game in gather or pubs" - alt-routing is for noobs then, right? And brt can easily deal with any semi...

Correct, the M79 has no startup time. But I think I know what that guy's trying to say.

He's trying to say that when you first spawn, you need to reload before you can shoot.
