How to backup your registration

(1/2) > >>

chrisgbk:
If you ever need to backup your registration key (Transferring to a new computer, lost email with original key, etc.) you should be able to run the following on any version of Windows to backup your key:

--- Code: ---regedit /e c:\soldat.reg "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Soldat"
--- End code ---

If you need to, you can change where it's saved to by changing C:\soldat.reg to wherever you wish to save it to. You'll be able to then run the .reg file to register again when needed.

DarkNoddy:
To be sure that you have a safe backup do as I did.
Make 3 backups.
1. a backup on the HDD
2. a password encrypted upload of the key to a reliable webhost (in case of HDD failure)
3. print the key out and attach it to the inside of your computer cabinet :)

Maybe a little overkill but it works XD

The Specialist:
Thanks for posting this command line.  It might be useful for me one day.

mar77a:
You write it in start->run, then the soldat.reg file will be created in the root C:\ folder.
