Ok, Battlefield 2 is officially CRAP!

So I bought Battlefield 2 at EB games a few weeks ago. Stupid me....buying it when I don't have the internet. So here I am, stuck with singleplayer bots. I can't get over the ammount of system resources this piece of crap TAKES! I bought a 256mb video card recently, and it won't even run at high quality on THAT!!! so maybe its the rather pathetic 512mb ram I have....But I shouldn't need to have 4gb of ram before the game will run decently!
How many of you have this game? As all of you have the internet, I'm pretty sure you don't have to play singleplayer. Quiet frankly, I'm sick of the pathetic size of the singleplayer maps. I can't get Wake Island 2007 with bot waypoints, and I can't seem to get the game to give me more than 8 bots on each team. Also...why the hell can I not get the 32 and 64 versions of all the maps?

The memory on the video card doesn't really matter, but more the actual processing power of the card. I got a GeForce 6800 Ultra and I can run it on the highest settings at 1280x1024 without any problems. And unless you fancy waiting about 10 minutes for a map to load I'd really recommend 1GB (hell, 2GB even) of RAM; but it should still run just fine on 512MB.

The 32 and 64 versions of the maps aren't waypointed because Dice were lazy. And you can change the number of bots; Google around for a utility or mess around in the config files. Oh, and get Battlefield 2 Coop mod. It'll allow you to play on 64 player maps with bots just fine.

Well, yeah. Buying a game strongly aimed at an online experience is really a bit stupid when you know you won't be able to play it online, don't you think?

When I had 512 MB ram I could run bf2 just fine on low graphics (lots of lag in the beginning, but quickly went away) and I have a steaming **** gfx card.

After I upgraded to 1.5K ram I can run it on medium/hig settings easy.
just shut down anything in the background.

Also the name of this thread says you think bf2 is crap just because your pc cant handle it to the fullest?

And let me say something, none of the bf2 pro's have bf2 running on full graphics. even though my pc can handle it it is not good to have the game riddled with reflections and stuff. it may look nice, but a combo of (mostly) medium and some low graphic options is the best if you want to kill something.

You can get the 64 maps with waypoints if you search for them. It's a big mod-pack. I have Geforce7600GS and can run at max settings at 1024x768 even at max with 1280x1024 but my desktop resolution is 1024x768 and I don't like switching. But then again the graphicscard alone can't do everything. I have a amd athlon64 x2 4200+ and 2GB ram. 512 will not make the game run smooth 1GB is needed for that.

I play starwars battlefront II and I am satisfied.
In an amd 1200mhz and an ati 9550 128 with 384 mb ram.

And minimum requirements are a 1500 mhz cpu...

I suppose these last games must be wonderful to play...

If you want more bots and such
Start up a LAN game and you get get more bots and tickets. Still small maps though (if you want bots).

Model of my card is a GEForce 7600 I think. its an Nvidia and it set me back about 200 bucks (I have a small PC case, which in turn leaves me with a small motherboard....so I had to get a PCI card)
Let me get back to you on that one.

Anyway....does anyone have any recommendations for good Modern war (no Si-Fi crap) OFFLINE games?

Rainbow six and graw are technicaly the same along with all tom Clancy's games when it comes to realism

CPU: 1.7 Ghz
RAM: 512 Mb
Video Card: NVidia GeForce FX 5700, ATI Radeon 8500 or ATI Radeon 9500
with 128 Mb of RAM

You should never get a game and think it'll work fine when it only meets the minimum...

I'm pretty sure there's no 7600 PCI card (I'm not 100% sure). Also, PCI is your problem.

So you're telling me Rainbow six does realism better when it has regeneratable health, and a third person camera for shooting around corners, and a crosshair? Which Rainbow six too? The few last ones are like arcade games.....

Battlefield is probably the slowest loading game you could possibly buy, the single player is really half assed.

They didn't put in any features like stopping the game from reloading the same map, on the other hand they did fine with combating latency. because battlefield is always an online game.

Wake island sucks, whoever has the jets bombs the **** out of everyone else, not fun.

Single player has no options in it at all, don't even bother.

I'm pretty sure there's no 7600 PCI card (I'm not 100% sure). Also, PCI is your problem.

I think he meant AGP. Nvidia 7600 is the last AGP card, they're not making any more of those.

SP in BF2 sucks, its a multiplayer game. + it uses too much of ur internet cap.

You can DL the updates and then start a LAN server with bots, but then u need a powerful pc.

Are all of your Drivers up-to-date?  May help a little bit.  Post your specs and compress it into a zip file then attach it.  (Go to Run and type in "dxdiag")  Your Video card and RAM make up a good amount of performance,  and your Processor is the Bulk of it.
