Yes, it can be.

In 1.4.1, it got a decent buff.

The delay still kills it though. A overheat-mode and a way to let it keep spinning to reduce delay would be great (Timesplitters <3)

It's been altered to the better these last versions but it stills needs some sort of buff. It's still kinda useful in normalmode, in realistic you hardly get to spray 4 bullets before your cursor flys out to the edge of the screen that's where it needs fixing the most.

Maybe 0 recoil and -1 bink? To compensate the delay.

Its VERY useful, I don't even think it needed the buff in the first place. I know a few minigun pros who will rape you with damned thing.

I used to get more kill with minigun in 1.3.1. now I can hardly get any kills. dunno why

I was whoring it 2 days ago in u13 and managed to rack up 20+ kills. That was nearly impossibe in 1.3.1.

but it sucks in realistic mode.. Real minigun DOES NOT have any recoil "upwards" but guy who shoots with it "flies" back when shoot. http://world.guns.ru/machine/minigun-e.htm
As you can read there it is MICROGUN, not minigun and it electrical, not gas operated.

Btw, soldats minigun shoots in real 170 rounds/second, so Soldat's minigun is not as good as it shoud be.

That minigun, if you read what you linked to, would simply throw you prone and possibly throwing away the minigun, rendering it useless. These miniguns are usually found on helicopters these days.

For the last time!!!!!! Miniguns don't overheat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (at least not with only 100 rnds)

It isn't useful in all but the perfect situation. The minimi or ak or something is way better at backing up team because u can defend yourself as well. Minigun needs a bigger buff.

I think......

the mini gun should have almost no recoil, but your character must ove slower when its eqiupped.

also, perhaps a bigger clip? [ammo runs short occasionally]

anyways, the minigun is ok,
no gun is perfect, each gun is better for certain situations.

i personally like the chainsaw, and no, its not a gun.

That's dumb, the concept of the gatling gun was specifically so the gun won't overheat, opposed to a single barreled machine gun like the M2.

Ye, but I suppose the timesplitters crew implemented it so you can't fire 400 rounds at someone just like that, it's out of balance. No other gun can do that. No other gun can match the force of the minigun. You don't even need to reload the **** thing.

So the overheat wasn't supposed to be realistic, it was a "nerf" so it wouldn't be david vs goliath if other weapons were enabled.

Me and chakra play with the mini sometimes... always a fun gun to use and if used properly can be used as a normal weapon. I hear tail of a guy that uses the mini in gathers and is very good with it. Most of using the gun is keeping it warm... which means don't just wait for the warmup when you see people... try to keep it constantly warm.
