I always liked the sniper, even after it was nerfed. In fact I liked it better after that..

I don't think it's a problematic weapon, since most of its users are pretty bad and can't shoot for shit. So, all you've gotta do is dodge their offtrack bullets and spray'em to hell

Nah, mastering the sniper isn't an overnight thing. Takes lot's of practise. In time, you will even learn to use it as an assault weapon..

Sniper's just fine the way it is, and peops need to just let it be.

I thought they were very noobish back in 1.2.1, but I've got more respect for them since the nurfs; more respect than M79'ers anyway..

Heh, I used to rush with these in the days of 1.2.1

pretty much pissed everyone off.

But today... Hmm, one-hit-killers are always easy to use. 1.2.1 version of the barret was much easier to use though. Just don't expect me to respect you after you killed me from 2 screens away.

The best weapon is your best weapon.
The more you practice with a weapon the better you get.
If you are one of the people who are good at using the sniper, good, but don't whore that weapon. Switch it up and save your good weapon for when you are in it deep, or when it's most opertune.

The Barrett M82A1 isn't a noob weapon at all. It is just over used in game. The only weapon that concerns me is the M79.

and Specialist the person who uses only one gun isn't a noob ;) you just have to be good with it.

It seems the general consensus is that Barrett assaulting is less nooby than camping. However, in my opinion, camping and sniping is a very viable tactic and the idiots who are repeatedly running into the same ambush (and incidentally who call the camper a noob) only have themselves to blame. Anything can be countered; personally I love the challenge of counter-sniping. Being a sniper is more than just camping, camping itself is a science, because sooner or later if you stay in one place, a someone will lay down the LAW, which, I would wager, (well, at least in TW) is oddly enough perhaps the most successful countersniping weapon other than another Barrett.

barrett don't take much skill at close-mid range, go prone in the air and snipe, sniping while standing on the solid ground or camping
(basically nub)

it takes more skill when people snipe at mid-long range, sniping while moving at a considerable speed, and sniping in the air not proning
(decent barrettards)

the user gain my respect when he can snipe out screen while moving in the air, using barrett like a ruger(no delay, well, it seems that it has no delay), long range sniping(diagonal or from one side to the other) and killing people while moving sickly fast
(marksmans)

# of people that fits into the 1st category: lost count
# of people that fits into the 2nd category: less than 100
# of people that gained my respect: 3+1(me) I can name 'em

note: that is just from who I've played with. Maybe there's still talents waiting to be discovered

Its the sniper of the game, of course people are gonna hate it.
However now that it's been nerfed I think it is sufficiently equal to all other weapons. I picked 3.

While not much of a rett user myself I still pick it every once in a while to stat-whore or just cause I'm bored of AK...

Sniping out the screen=10% skill and 90% luck ("noob")

long range sniping=sniperspray ("noob")

Killing people while moving really fast= 80% skill and 20% luck

By your "rank" I'd get Decent Barrettard thing.
