Gross, wine! Once, my dad and I went snowmobile riding and when we got home, he heated some red wine for us to drink so that we wouldn't get sick. Tasted pretty much exactly like vomit. Since then, I've despised wine.

By the way, congratulations. Might just be me, but you don't look like a rapist in that picture. =D

I got my uniform in recently. I'll post a picture in here soon, looking like a businessman.

Almost all alcohol tastes nasty. I don't see how people can stomach some of the stuff they do to be honest. On two related note I saw my bro play some random bar at about 1am thursday(thanksgiving) morning and smoked some cigars with a buddy of mine from florida. Trying to find pics of the show now, will edit this sentence out of the post when I do... if you are still reading this you are silly.

Chances are it's his mum's wine anyway.  Riesling is a mom drink.  I like to give jrgp the benefit of the doubt and assume he knows better.

Not spiced cider. Or a Long Island Iced Tea. Though I wouldn't recommend the latter for anyone who likes to remain vertical.

Kaz: red wine is delicious once you've acquired a healthy hatred for life. Or if you're me. Stick with the sweet whites until you can broaden your palate a bit. And like Geo said, find the good wines if you wish to avoid dry heaves and heavy regrets. Anything $20+ should be fine (though there will still be some duds, no matter what price you pay).

jrgp: Bleh. If you want vodka, pay for the higher priced ones then stick them in the freezer. Once it's cold enough to leave your tongue frostbitten and numb, then you drink it. And keep drinking it. The more you have, the better it tastes!

any white wine + sparkling water = win. 1+1, 2+1, 3+2 or 9+1 are good ratios. The latter two knock you out fast though.

I'm inclined to agree.  I've been living in Scotland for the past few months, and I seem to find at least one new cask-drawn ale every day.  I'm within 3 kilometers of 12 different microbreweries, and this is just around one suburb of Edinburgh.  The Wetherspoon's down the street gets 5 new cask-drawns every week from the Highlands.
