So yesterday my sister, my dad, my stepmom, and I went to the Rocky Mountains and stayed in a cabin at a place called Estes Park. While we were there, we visited the Stanley Hotel, which is where Stephen King's The Shining was filmed.

+ In front of the Stanley Hotel.
+ In the main lobby.

I was on vacation in Florida for 2 weeks, which explains my absence.

We drove down to Daytona Beach from Toronto on the... 12th, I believe it was. That took about 23 hours. We stayed there for 3 days or so, then drove to Orlando and stayed in a villa for 4 days. Yes, I went to Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure with my dad, and although I need a serious haircut, I have some pictures. Then we drove to Hollywood Beach, Florida, and we were there for the following week before coming back.

Note that you're not allowed to have any cameras on any of the rides, so there aren't any good action shots, sorry. But at least I look sexy in my shorts.

Arrived at Daytona, on the balcony of our beachside hotel:

A giant dragon made out of legos at Downtown Disney. There were several other impressive structures like a Transformers-esque robot, a shark, and an entire family with a dog, but this one was the biggest.

Outside of Calypso Cay, the resort/villa we stayed at in Orlando, the morning of going to Universal:

There are more, but most of them are just the pool areas or our hotel, so they aren't worth posting. Also, my dad wore black dress socks and running shoes with his shorts, and some of the shots include him. He looked absolutely ridiculous, which is why I'm not showing them. >_> My mom and I laughed harder and harder at every picture we saw of him.

hah, nice picks Twisty. I've been to Universal and I.O.A. so many times it isn't even funny. I've been to the place in each picture you just posted.

edit: You drove all the way down from Canada in only 23 hours??

To Daytona it was about 23 hours, yeah. That includes stoppage for food and the bathroom, but we stopped at a hotel for one night each way. On the way back, however, we drove home from Hollywood Beach (near Miami) in only 18 hours. Yeah, my dad gave the van a workout. It has 240 HP, though, so I guess he felt compelled to use them.
