YES NO MORE CG!!!!!!!! WOOT!!!!! Its like God a.k.a. heard my wish <3

CG was going to ruin Soldat's Rep + Your Rep + The World... Why you ask?
CAUSEEEE it sounds so frickin complicated! Well happily you are now stalled, and have to waste more years on making a new game, which will keep Soldat at the top!!! wootttotootot....

I call Soldat's source code when Soldat is like 20 years old :-)

Anyways, idk if this is a bug, but when I play ALONE with BOTS on LAN in Soldat, it freezes like every minute ( b by the way, the onnly reason im playing alone is cuz my internet wont work on my PC), and also like randomly i go prone and cant get back to upright position, and randomly when I fly i just stop, its like weirdd, and it never happend in 1.4 or earlier.

Peace MM.... By the way, im going to M.I.T

Ivel the new MM project is maybe not going to take more years because MM already started it and he will use some code from CG and MM is a good coder (what did I say he is a great coder) so it won't take long I think more then a couple of month maybe 1 year but not really long
R the coolest game ever

whos to say EnEsCe doesn't already have it? I mean, he did develop the dedicated server.

No, he doesn't have Soldat's source code, only the dedicated server source code.  it was stated later, maybe in 2008 or so, MM will officially release the source of Soldat for anyone to download and to continue Soldat.  That may be the official time of when Soldat may officially pwn.  But then we'll have Crimson Glory to look forward to.
Fixed.

I mean honestly. is any modder here not looking forward to it?

Good that Soldat will be continued still for some time.

To tell the truth, I didn't really like CG '3D Triplane Turmoil'. Good luck with the new game project.

MM will you create a team to work on the game, like do you recruit mappers/etc.?

Too bad for CG. I was learning Deled so that I could make maps. I'm pretty decent at 3d modelling. I was figuring it would look like the 3d style of Triplane Turmoil 2. But, I think since Soldat was very successful with it's 2d look, I'm darn sure that the new project will also look awesome in 2d. Personally I rather prefer 2d anyway. I myself am programming a minimalist 2d game.

Like many here, I would love to see how Soldat works via source code. However, I hate to say this but I hope MM doesn't release that code for a good 50 years. I want to keep playing Soldat for years, even if his other project is out.. and even if that other project was better, I still want to play Soldat. I like it as it is. I wouldn't want to see several different versions (with vehicles, larger gosteks, 3d crap... etc.) floating around out there. That's not a good ending to this game's legacy.

Besides that, Im also afraid that if the source were to be released that it would go the way of Quake. After ID released Quake's source.. the game and all its mods including Team Fortress died due to useless cheaters making new cheats based on the code. Well TF almost, Neo TF is out now and has a few servers goin. If the code was released to a small group of personally trusted individuals who would then keep Soldat protected and alive.. I'd have no prob with that.

Keep up the good work MM. I look forward to seeing CG as it is and I can't wait to have my socks blown off by your next project.

Its great that you are concentrating on the modding aspect of the game!

When Crimson Glory sounds like a great game, but people like myself would have no way of modding it due to my lack of understanding of 3D design!

I hope CG will represent the much loved modding side of soldat!

I dont know if anybody remembers a very old game for the PS1 Called 'Vandal Hearts?' It was a great game that combined a simple 3D map with 2D characters.

I would love to see a game based on this kind of animation. As it benefits the modders with easy-to-use MS Paint editing. And a simple map editor wouldnt be a problem.
If this game could incorporate some form of real-time fighting similar to soldat, that would be great!

For those who have not heard of the classic, here it is: http://uk.psx.ign.com/objects/000/000727.html

Yeah those are sprites, like in Doom.

I'm aiming for the same animation as in Soldat but better. Meaning players will be constructed out of a skeleton with multiple sprites which can be easily edited.

Nope, that's the only info I will give out for now.
More news when I release Crimson Glory and Soldat 1.4.2.

And this is why when news is given out by MM, it's so cherished and loved.
