Blood on/off
« on: June 16, 2007, 05:04:21 pm »
Since I have little brothers playing this, I would love to have a selection in the menu to turn blood on and off.
It would be good because this game can get pretty bloody, and little kids should be seeing this kind of stuff.

I have a script that censors the swears...
And as long as theirs no blood, guns are okay.

:O!

As good an idea it might be I'll go in as devil's advocate as usual. Just create a separate mod with all the blood graphics (located in Sparks-gfx & Gostek-gfx\ranny) completely transparent (=RGB(0,255,0) filled) and you haven't got any blood. :)

But each time I would play or my little brothers I would have to turn it on/off by changing it all the time.
That gets monotonous and time consuming.

You can use batch files or run it as a mod etc.

Turn guns into flowers and remove the sound also!

Guns and sounds are okay, my Mom just doesn't want blood when they play.
I say its a good idea to add that option.

Just...Copy the blood, and delete and paste depending on who's playing. Shouldn't take TOO long...

I am suggesting this to be on every copy of Soldat, not my very own problem.
I vote yes to this, because there are kids out here who play this.

It's just 32-bit blood, not really that detailed and defined. It's not even close to realistic, and that's how I like it. If your moms have a problem with 32-bit "violence", then you have a problem. I, for one, don't have a problem.

Your little brothers are still gonna see that they are killing people with or without the blood.  If you dont want them to see blood i have an idea.  (now bear with me cuz it just came to me) DONT LET THEM PLAY A GAME WHERE THE ONLY OBJECTIVE IS TO KILL.
And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too

You guys don't understand. The kids see that their objective is to make them bleed to win, if they implicate this in real-life, there we go: Mass Murderers! LOL!

You guys don't have little brothers or kids because you've all been called pedofiles but if you were in his point-of-view as a bigger brother he doesn't want that.

Then dont let them play violent games retard. lol jesus... this guy wants the entire soldat community to help him out by removing the blood so his little brothers can kill less violently.  Its a pretty bad idea and the reasoning behind it is even worse.

Just make a bloodless copy of Soldat for them to play. It's not a honkin' big app anyways.

Honestly, simply make sure your brother knows the difference between a game and real life.
Take him out of the game when he gets too into it, and turn it off after he plays too long.
alt-f4 works well.

Why can't anyone just vote, I used that as an example.
Vote if you think its good, especially for younger players.

If they are so young they can't handle blood then Soldat isn't the game for them.
